We've got a below average roster and they don't seem to want to give it their all under Führer Ruff. Going to be a long shortened season.

Yep, coaching's the problem when you can't win faceoffs. Clearly.

I'm liking Ott...he's always moving his legs...which is more than can be said of many our players...

I don't think Stafford will ever have the consistent drive that he needs to be impactful...

Coaching can't affect faceoffs!

*Best faceoff man on bench for final draw*

Maybe our elite coaching staff should actually *teach* our centers how to improve at face offs.Lindy has to have one of the worst overall coaching staffs in the league,James Patrick,Kevyn Adams they are both mediocre to downright terrible assistant coaches.

Doesn't change the fact that he is by far our best faceoff man and was glued to the bench

He did. In fact...I think he's played well in all the games. Hasn't hurt us at all...which is all Im looking for out of him.

He led the team in ES ice time. Could it possibly be that he had just taken a shift and was tired?

Also, as someone pointed out in the GDT, handedness matters. With Ott already struggling at the dot (whether because of matchups or just an off day), I don't think I would have asked him to win a draw on the off-side either. There's a reason Gaustad learned how to take faceoffs with both hands.

A little but not a lot. For 15+ years we've been ... well mostly mediocre to bad. Especially these past 3 to 5. The compete level; where is it? Ruff is, was effective, but he's lost the players' allegiance I think. They haven't shown much under his reich so far in the past few years. It may very well be time for the search for a new coach to start.

Ott lost the final face-off of the game.

U: Vanek doesn't play and for it results in the worst game of the season for Pominville and Hodgson.

I don't see it.

I see a lot more heart and jam in this years team than last years. And it really has nothing to do with Ruff...it's the team.

Not sure what you mean but Patrick is a known commodity around these parts and that's the deal he wanted from the Avalanche. They wouldn't give it to him and now Colorado has Sherman and Sacco.

I don't blame Patrick for those demands. But he is a take charge person and would definitely shake up the Sabres franchise. A real threat to the good old boys club that seems to have developed.

Yeah, I've met him..... and know lots of parents who had kids on the same teams as his kids. Good give back guy, clearly smart and knowledgable. Also a bit insufferable and has a wicked temper. One of the biggest ego's I've ever met (course if you can do what you say, it ain't braggin')

What I meant was that Roy's pretty egotistical to demand that for his first NHL job

Okay, let's trade the whole damn team, or we can fire the coach and see if there are changes.

Curious, what would make you be okay with firing Ruff? Losing streak for the rest of the season? I know we're not going to be a good team but it looks like this team doesn't even care, something needs to change.

I wouldn't mind seeing some emotion behind the bench and Roy would bring that...Ruff has lost most of that fire we used to see more often...
