The Jets really don't need Subban. ROR would be a great addition though.

and that happens at lots of practices

Since this is about the Habs, everything gets magnified

Didn't it happen with the Jets last season between Stuart and Slater?

Yeah, just thinking that that might be where it's coming from.

You could very well be right

He is going through the same thing Kane is here.

Great young player, in a big hockey market.

You sneeze, everyone knows

He wouldn't be a problem in the dressing room. In fact, he wouldn't even be in the dressing room before/after games and during optical workouts, him and his agent would be too busy drumming up his star power and wage demands with TV appearances and commercial endorsements ... just like they have to this point, so that in their eyes they can demand more than he is actually worth to shut up and play hockey.

Dude. You jump on everything a hockey player does and exaggerate the heck out of it.

If you were right about half of these things Kane would have had an awful game against the Pens because of his hair cut.

I keep going back to ROR today so forgive me if I am starting to get repetitive but if the Avs insisted on getting Trouba back in a deal would anyone here be in favor of it? Burmi + Trouba for ROR and one of the Av's D prospects and a pick? Trouba has looked so good but teh chance to get a guy that can be a #2 C for the next 5 years is very enticing. Maybe just Trouba and a pick similar to the Turris deal would get it done?

I definitely wouldn't give Trouba and Burmistrov.

Especially when Burmistrov has been on an almost identical development curve to ROR.

Subban is a good guy IMO.

Anyone remember this story from last year?

Yeah Burmi + Trouba is too much.

Burmi + any pick that's not a first I could stomach.

For Subban it'd have to be Trouba+ going the other way you'd think...

More general thoughts:

I hope we can resign Poni before July 1. He's been better than Glass without doing anything spectcular. He can handle the skill players with size in our zone and he has a underrated shot with decent finish. Could move up the lineup in a short term injury pinch as well. If we could get him for 3 years at under $2M I'd be happy.

I think that unless Antropov really plays well on the new formed 2nd line AND the team is in a playoff spot at the deadline, we should look at moving him for futures. He can still help a contender this season but Scheifele and Burmistrov both should be getting a chance at moving up on the depth chart to more offensive roles anyway.

Ditto for Hainsey. If we could get a 2nd rounder for either in that situation I would take it.

I don't know him, but most in Mtl seem baffled by the "off ice issues" talk. He seems smart, well articulated, friendly, passionate and driven. Unless his teammates hate him, I am all for that kins of player.

Always good to be on the hunt to continually improve the team, that being said I like our team this year. I think our young talent is progressing very nicely (Kane and Burmi) and our prospects are looking solid in junior and collage. We are loaded in this upcoming draft so its good to be dealing from a position of "relative" strength.

We will need to have a plan for all the off season UFA's but on balance we are progressing so we won't have to sell the farm to land an asset.

I would NOT do that trade! But I'd do it in a second for Matt Duchene.
