Honestly I know nothing of this Hickey guy. What has he done that has everyone here so excited about him other then the obvious fact that Finley the enormous human turnstile won't be playing.
High pedigree puckmover (2008 and 12009 canadian wjc captain and gold medal winner). drafted 4th overall by the cup champs whose early injuries left him behind other guys on their depth chart. Plays similiarly to MacDonald, right doen to the occasional hip check (had one late december where he obliterated a guy who tried to skate down his side).
TRANSLATION: We should smoke them easily because they suck and it'll make us look bad if we lose.
I wish. Truth is you guys had our number last year. We're coming off huge moral victories over the Penguins and Capitals. Both games featured 3/4 lines shaken up, and it seemed to work. There's also a new found commitment to forwards being more defensive
Its the coaches job to prep the guys before the game as well as the captian's job to make sure that know one goes out under estimate the other team. I know it all sits in the back of every player and fan's head thinking this is an easy one. Its the leaders job to prepare the team each and every day making sure they are focused

Thanks man looking forward to seeing him play tonight. Andy Mac is an underrated defensemen imo. Anyone with upside on this team is good.
Just wanted to add we'll probably boo Tavares whenever he touches the puck. Consider it a compliment, one that almost always works against us.
Yeah, we're aware of the tradition of booing the other team's best player or at least I am. Hopefully they'll have to boo him a lot tonight because that means he's being who he is.
Just took a quick glance over at the WPG board and they all pretty much think the Jets will win this one. I guess it'll be another one of those "prove them wrong" games! Let's go Islanders!
I've noticed that this happens more with certain teams. Toronto, for example, has been the worst by far this season. Almost every other post was "I can't believe we're losing to the Islanders". They must forget that this is the NHL, there are no easy wins, any team can win or lose on any given night.
I bet nobody predicted the Isles would be leading the Atlantic division in goals per game after the first week of the season. Hopefully we keep the offense going tonight against Montoya. I feel we always do good against our ex-goalies.
