Damn it, I actually liked Josh as a prospect but Spott's talent analysis for the World Juniours leaves me with the impression that he knows crap about hockey talent. He is certainly an horrid coach. Now I am worried that Leivo is going to crash and burn as a prospect.

Sparks has 25 saves, 10 mins away from a shutout.

Percy played pretty well last night, had a good assisst on the pp as he set Demelo up for a one timer and Burnside put in the rebound. Played a lot agaisnt Monahan and Salaturo so it was nice to see him matched up agaisnt 2 highly skilled players who have chemistry. Scored a dandy in the shootout as well

Any chance Percy skips the ahl stage and goes right into the nhl? It seems a developed percy is exactly what we need and the perfect partner for phaneuf, responsible, great two way game, positionally sound. I think hes gonna be a better version of gunnarsson.

Nothing is impossible but he'll have to seriously play great to make the jump. In his short stint last year with the Marlies, he didn't look out of place.

I think he'll need at least a few months of adjusting with the Marlies though. The depth on defense might be a bit too much for him to make it too.

He's going to need atleast 1-2 years in the AHL to get accustomed to the PRO style game. Our defense has very limited spots as it is and I can't see the coaching staff forcing kids into unnecessary roles.

how can this be true lol? we have a terrible, terrible defence. and for whatever we have limited spots?

if carlyle has shown anything this season, is that he will get the defence rotating based on who he thinks should play.

if percy plays his way onto the team, they will make room for him - simple as that. having said that, i agree that percy will need time

You're right. It's not like anyone has done well offensively in the O but not been able to translate that to the NHL.

Wait...

Granberg might have lost a year with his injury, but Nilsson could also be in the mix.

It isn't going to be easy to make the Leafs when he has to compete against Rielly, Granberg, Nilsson amongst the kids taking a run at it. Heck Finn could surprise at camp.

No freebies.

If he's the opposite of Lebda, just give him the Norris already!

Agreed. Percy's not the type of prospect you rush. Let him mature in the minors and watch him step into the top 4 when he's had his time.

He has a decent offensive skill, I hope he can polish it a bit more. I know after his draft day he also spoke about improving his shot, which I hope he has focused on.

Petter Granberg is back in action after missing 4 months with a broken collarbone. Played in the 3rd pairing when his team SAIK won 2-0.
