Norwegians can talk to Swedes without translation? (True for Slovaks and Czechs.)
No problem at all. They are more similar than people from Great Britain and North America. Or at the least it's just as easy talking to each other.

Good to know about the similarity. I'd like to learn Swedish one day (Ingmar Bergman being my favourite film director), so it will be nice to be learning Norwegian in the process. I have a Danish brother-in-law but I hear that Danish, while similar to Swedish/Norwegian, is a lot more difficult to learn (especially pronunciation), and that I might just as well give up rather than attempt it.

Danish and Norwegian is very similar to wright, but a lot harder to understand when they speak. The Danes have a funny way to speak and a weird (for us) pronunciation.
But if you learn Swedish, you might be able to read those three Scandinavian language
We are way OT now,but Bergman lived with the Norwegian actress Liv Ulmann from 1965 to 1970, and have a daughter named Linn Ulmann together.
I would love to visit Bratislava to see Slovan play against one of the "Norwegian" KHL teams, Ska,Minsk or Magnitka.. Pragua was a lovely city.
I'm ashamed to admit I had no idea Ulmann was Norwegian.

Well, Minsk is here on Monday. We are terrified by Lars Haugen's stats. We just gave Koshechkin his 7th shutout tonight, and we may get burned by another goaltender on Monday. The absence of Višňovský and Sekera was painfully felt (no support for offence from defenders), and the new arrival Svatoš looked lost. It seems the best thing that could happen to Minsk was for Pekka Rinne to leave. They've been on a roll since, with Haugen in goal. Zuccarello and Thoresen both had great games in Bratislava (although they both lost!).

Bratislava's Old Town is a lot smaller. Bratislava can't compete with Prague, or Vienna next door, in terms of tourist attractions.

About speaking:
I'm originally from Poland and don't have problems with understanding slovak language and slovakian colleagues understand me when speak polish. Problem is with czech. It's more difficult for me. I catch maybe 40%
Interesting, KHLbet... I heard other people claim that Czech and Polish are closer to each other than Slovak and Polish. They were probably wrong. I'm currently reading my first novel in Polish, and it's a struggle, although I have a good idea about what's going on in every sentence. Still, I purchased the Collins Polish-English electronic dictionary to assist my reading.
We've just discussed today at Slovan's game the rumour about Gdańsk possibly joining the KHL.
As to CSKA scoring more than 2 goals, I wouldn't bet on it! They seem happy with winning their games 2-1, 1-0, relying on the steady Staňa and Proskuriakov in goal. Tonight, it misfired.
I heard that same but when I was going to Habartice and Praga-english only. I have slovakian friends and we speak half polish half slovakian. You wouldn't understand us
About CSKA: Atlant scored 5 twice in last 2 games...
Atlant is still "alive", who would predict this a few months ago?
I predicted this, right here on HFBoards, in one of these KHL threads. I'm too busy to find that post now. I based that prediction on Atlant's very good performance in Bratislava, despite losing here. I call them horčičáci (mustard guys) in Slovak, due to their away jersey colour.
I am socked and ashamed that I am fan of Slovan Bratislava. Why? Because of this statement of official Slovan´s fanclub. I know, it is only a few people who have this opinion, but still.. it is an official fanclub of KHL member club!!! Hope KHL will react.
