Up and down period. Wild gave up more chances. I saw better puck possession out of the second line, but the first line was struggling to get the puck in deep to set up. The aggressive forecheck did pressure the Blues in their end, but leaves the Wild very susceptible to rushes the other way.

I want to see the Wild moving their feet a bit more, only send one forechecker, clog the neutral zone a bit, and stay physical. I still want to see the Wild getting more shots and that's going to require smarter picks in the neutral zone and better zone entries.

Backstrom looks pretty decent.

That would be even more amazing if the Pro Bowl wasn't as fake as the Royal Rumble.

Meh. They seem to be taking the game a lot more seriously than last year. Atleast to me it has entertainment value.

Hitch was correct...both team's play in their own end was pretty weak. No one has been blasted into IR yet so there is that.
Feel better down by one to this team than i did losing to Detroit.

Pretty much. And we've had good opportunities, we just haven't gotten the bounces. Post and then Koivu's nice tip.

Best chances thus far have been from lines other than the top line also...another reason to like the first period.

You guys have inspired me. Starting the second period with a Labatt and leftover Davanni's. Feels like hockey food.

Patience so needs to be a virtue with this team, ironically it's the one thing we can least afford.

Butch needs to start expecting passes like that...had he even half expected it, that's a great connection between fbj and Butch!
