I just can't see him busting. He always knows where to be, skates like the wind, has a bullet of a wrist shot, and plays with grit and courage. I'm not sure the physical side will translate due to his average size, but I could see him as a Mike Fisher clone.

I'd leave him in Junior another year. The over age guys in Edmonton will be moving on next year and he and Lazar will be top dogs. He won't be nineteen until February, so no AHL for him next season (at least not to start the year). Let him put up North of a point and a half per game in the Dub next season, give USA no choice whatsoever to let him play in the WJC in Sweden next year (he'll only be nineteen, so should be eligible). See if he can lead the Dub in scoring and lead USA to a gold in Sweden. Ulf is basically at the opposite end of the country but it would still be cool.

No rush.

You guys like Lazar a lot more than I do...he'd be in the 2nd round for me.

Just peaked at the Pirates season scoring stats. I can't believe Martinook is still at 2 points after 22 games. This guy scored 40 goals last year and now he's at 2 points. I get that it's his first pro year and there's an adjustment needed, but he's physically mature and will be 21 in July. How many points does Bozon have right now?

Yep, you guessed it...more than 2.

Tim Bozon GP-49 G-29 A-36 Pts-55

These picks never turn out well for us. Just like we all said, Martinook was a 4/5th rounder that we picked way too early.

We should go get whoever is drafting for St. Louis, it sure seems that whoever they pick seem to do really well.

Isn't Martinook playing garbage minutes on the 4th line though? Looks like he isn't even playing every game possible. Healthy scratch?

I think he's had two separate injuries this year.

Sorry I disappeared for a few weeks/months guys.

It'll obviously be ridiculous to do game by game breakdowns of every game since I last updated this but I figure it'd be a good thing to look at the current stat lines of all our CHL guys again:

Henrik Samuelsson
51GP 26G 35A 61P +23 76PIM 7PPG 3SHG

Kale Kessy (Now on his third team of the year, the Kamloops Blazers)
40GP 12G 11A 23P Even 78PIM 2PPG 1SHG

Marek Langhamer
22GP 10-9-1 3.44GAA .894SV% 1SO

Justin Haché
49GP 5G 15A 20P -22 34PIM 3PPG 0SHG

James Melindy
48GP 3G 12A 15P +5 72PIM 2PPG 0SHG

Andrew Fritsch
37GP 15G 14A 29P Even 4PIM 4PPG 2SHG

Lucas Lessio (Finally returned from his hand injury on January 23rd)
16GP 8G 7A 15P -2 24PIM 7PPG 0SHG

Connor Murphy
Not enough games played, 3 massive injuries, 1 wasted first round pick

Thanks, OOEEL. Love Samuelsson's numbers. I hope he is our first well developed offensive center. However i feel that he will be more of a Martin Hanzal type, nothing wrong with thay, i just want an offensive center SOMEDAY. Here's to hopin'.

I am REALLY high on Lessio, more excited about him as a prospect than i have been in a while. Looks like Lucic 2.0

Don't expect Samuelsson to be a center. He generally only takes draws in the offensive zone, when playing on a line with Lazar and that's only because Lazar's shot is so good that they want him open.

Looking at the 2012 draft Samuelsson would be a top 10 pick if the draft happened today with the way he has developed

Just watched live Justin Haché tonight. His team lost 8-0 against my PEI Rockets in the Q. His team was crap but him, he was solid (despite -4) and easily the best player in his team (don't mean much). I think it's the 10th times this year I saw him, I'm always impressed. I mean, he isn't a wow-player, but he has lot of tools. His best asset is IQ. He takes fast decisions, and good ones. He makes good and quick tape-to-tape passes. He isn't undersized (but not big, just a normal size). He is mobile, but not a speedster. He isn't very physical but he isn't soft, he has a bit of grit. He isn't elite in one area but good everywhere. I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes a NHLer, he is smart enough. I really likes this player and wanted the Rockets to get Haché at the last trade deadline.

Send a message via AIM to Kimahri
Henrik Samualsson added 2 more assists to his totals tonight.

And Kale Kessy had a 5 point night with 2 goals and 3 assists in Kamloops 7-4 win over Spokane tonight.

He & Kessy are the only decisions left from that draft year, no?

Fristch isn't even a PPG player in the OHL. I doubt he amounts to anything. But Kessy's game might translate.

Fritsch did have 63 points in 60 games in 2010-11 with Owen Sound, and he's only 6 points off the PPG mark this season. He's second on the Greyhounds in power play goals with 8 as well, so I think it might be worth it to give him a shot to be an AHL player.

I mean what have we got to lose? It's not like we have an overabundance of forward depth. Evan Brophey signed on as a bottom six guy for the Pirates and happened to stick because we don't have ton of forwards coming through the pipeline.

Even if Andrew doesn't get a deal, I could see him coming to camp and getting an AHL deal ala Bloodoff and Dziurzynski

What about the Salunier twins in Moncton? They're undrafted and overagers, but they've both been PPG+ for three straight seasons. Anybody watch Melindy closely or watched Gormley closely that saw the twins and thought they were worth contracts or a camp invite?

Just wondering who will be Maloney's surprise mystery signing this year. Shinnimin was understandable because he'd come to our camp before, but Miele was pretty surprising.

Miles Koules?

I haven't watched Moncton but from following them for Melindy it seems like their production this year is coming from a) Their natural chemistry, and b) Jaskin absolutely setting the Q ablaze.
