Thanks. I haven't seen too much of him, but every time I've seen him he is playing his off-wing.

Good point. The top 3 alone is exceptional, arguable one of the best forwards and goalies ever to play NHL right there.

I would love to see Erne lined up next to Bozon and Galchenyuk one day. Erne reminds me a ton of Zach Parise.

Except with more size who is not afraid to throw his body around. Whoever gets this kid will be plenty happy.

He doesn't do it often enough though. And offensively he should take more risks.

I'm sure he will realize sooner than later his frame will be beneficial to his NHL career.

why is this kid projected as a top15?
He's showing he can lead his team offensively without Grigo, is a big body, can play physical. Id love to have him with the Habs.

He would likely be a top 10 if this draft was not so deep.

arguably? Lemieux and Roy are amongst the best ever at their positions, no questions asked

I know this is not all that relevant on this board but I managed to draft Lazar, Erne and Betz in one of my GM Connected leagues

Had the opportunity to speak with Erne after last nights game.

Erne had a pretty interesting answer to a question regarding the suspension:

Quote:
TSR - After the incident in earlier this month where you and Anthony Duclair were suspended for a game by Patrick Roy, what was the lesson learned?

Erne Ė In general, it was more of a team lesson learned, wasnít necessarily an individual thing. Itís all about the team was the main theme of it though.
Seems a bit like a spin-off that he and Duclair 'took one for the team'.

Did seem like a character guy though, and for those who haven't seen much of him - very smart power forward is a good description. Hockey IQ is up there with the best in the draft.

Adam Erne - The Next Ones

http://thehockeywriters.com/adam-ern...spect-profile/

I really enjoy Erne's physicality coupled with his knack for going to the net, creating plays, and ability to snipe. He has a great blend of skills and he should be a 1st round pick.

To those who have seen him play, what is your take on him? Where do you think he will end up?

Good catch. Didn't want to give him TOO much hype.

Imagine if he did, how much street cred you'd get...

Thanks. Before he joined the Remparts, I really wanted him to go to BU to see what he could do at the NCAA level. Glad he was able to play with such talent in Quebec.

I wouldn't mind The Islanders taking a chance on him around 15

Personally I find his game to be very similar to Dustin Brown. Very intense north-south type of player. I think his upside is limited tough.

Adam Erne: 2013 NHL Draft Player Profile #16

Quote:
It was a bit of a perplexing year for Adam Erne and the Quebec Remparts. Loaded with talent and expected to challenge the Halifax Mooseheads for QMJHL supremacy before the season began, things didnít go exactly as planned. Sure, the Mooseheads held up their end of the bargain, but Erne and the Remparts never seemed to live up to their potential, even with Mikhail Grigorenko playing most of the season both due to the NHL lockout, and being sent back to Junior from the Sabres. Rumors of conflict in the Remparts dressing room were rampant, especially after Erne, and teammate Anthony Duclair were announced as being suspended by the team for a game in late January. However the two draft eligibles never ended up serving that suspension, as Head Coach/GM Patrick Roy reconsidered and put them back in the lineup. The Remparts would end up finishing 5th in the QMJHL standings and losing in the second round of the playoffs.

Anyone else see a bit of James Neal in this kid?

I'm hoping the Sharks can grab this guy at #20. He'd be a perfect pick.

Have him going to Chicago late in the first in my upcoming mock draft.
