I was at the game so I haven't watched the reply yet but did the the CSN feed show the sweet overhead shot of Couture taunting Burrows with his fingers before the opening face-off? No one really mentioned it specifically in the GDT thread...

If not, NHL Tonight on the NHL Network has been showing it. So awesome.

It took the loss of more than one player for4 Detriot to become "Detrioty". Loosing two of the top four without sutiable replacements hurts. It hurts bad

I love Clowe!!! He's the kind of guy we need on this team. If he weren't on that line, everybody would be trying to take off coutures head.

Burrows is such a punk. It's great to see him fail at agitating and just end up in the box. Gutless rat, that's what he is. Hell of a game to attend. Had a great time.

with the other leaders like jumbo, pavs, marleau, and to an extent boyle being fairly level-headed guys, this team seriously needs a somewhat-bat****-crazy-at-times-but-usually-its-in-a-good-way type of guy like Clowe around...

while I still think he's better off as an elite 3rd line player rather than having the pressure to produce as a top-6 player, IMO there's no question he brings something to the team that nobody else can

That'll be TJ Galiardi and Burish once they're fully integrated and confident. I remember hating TJ with a passion a few years ago when the sharks played the avs in the playoffs. When that guy gets up to full speed he's gonna be fun to watch.

Don't think Burrows will ever live down the finger bite...

Couture wanted in on Thornton's trolling of Canucks I suppose

Glad SJ showed up to shut up some of the doubters.

Even if they had Kesler out, we have Demers and Burns out.

Gomez has to watch out for those hits.

Clowe showed today why he should never leave. But, he has to tone it down a little.

Just my thoughts on the game.

I think it had more to do with the fact that Burrows had his entire head and upper body over the middle of the ice. The finger thing was probably a clever afterthought.

Still totally hilarious though.

That post was about those who want to trade Clowe. Detroit has long been known as a team with no one that can answer the bell.

quote from mclellan about clowe.

Quote:
"We're not happy about the penalties and that's all I am going to say," McLellan said. "I owe Ryan Clowe my conversation. I have a lot of respect for him. I am happy we won with a good, gritty effort."

He really started the game perfectly, I was okay with the penalties taken before puck drop. a tripping penalty, and a holding the stick penalty? sounds lazy to me, but when he put tanev into the boards, the team got energized. he just doesnt control himself enough to really be effective in that role.

im still waiting for burish to get into some stuff. as a fourth liner he can have more impact on their team than clowe, with fighting etc...

Great, now he's going to go back to being the soft-ass version of himself. Be careful out there Logan.
