I do both. I don't understand why it's so difficult to also read the books along with the show. I'm actually surprised that any real fan of the show WOULDN'T want to read the books. There is a lot more in the books that doesn't make it into the show.
I'm a fan of Dexter and I've never read the books. I'm a fan of TWD and I've never read the comics. I'm a fan of Boardwalk Empire and I've never read the book.
Why would someone want to read thousands of pages if they can just watch the show, especially a high quality one like this? That being said, I've read them all after seeing the first season.

It's not difficult, I personally just have no interest to read the books. I guess I'm just not a "real" fan.
I don't know, but it sounds more like 300 set your expectations of what the unsullied should look like? Well maybe not as the equipment at least should look roughly the same and these guys look way different there. But considering that there were no hardcore ab workout routines in the middle ages and these guys are supposed to be eunuch's, the unsullied probably should look a little underwhelming.
That's a good point. I tend to let my imagination run away with me at times lol. The unsullied are pretty bad-ass though.

Stop with the "real fans" stuff. Some of us were introduced to GOT via the TV show and would prefer not to spoil the rest of the series for ourselves. Makes it more enjoyable when you don't know what's coming. If you wanna talk about the books, there's a thread for that.
Aged yeah, I just mean ... he seemed like he had some joie de vivre that I don't pull from those pictures. He looks like he's more likely to play a funeral dirge than the Dornishman's Wife.
I haven't read the books, but none of the injuries to the characters (especially their faces) will be as bad as the books. These are actors (many of which are relatively unknown) and they do need people to know who they are to help further their careers.
Yeah the Hound in the book is described a lot more lean and ugly, like a starving dog. In the show he seems more like a docile, sleepy dog.
Especially in season 2, it seemed they captured him from his 'human' face more often than the first season. I bet they worried that his relationship with Sansa would come off as too threatening if they played him as ugly as they do in the books. Maybe they're playing with Sansa's perspective, in that at first all she could see was his inhumanity, and that's changing.
Not to mention the lack of multi-coloured hair and eyes, and disfigured face.
I believe they originally had him with multi-coloured eyes but didn't continue with it.
I think generally they've done a good job making the characters realistic and similar to the books, other than Tyrion's nose and ugliness, and Brienne's ugliness, but a lot of the descriptions come from other characters interacting with them and are from their perspective. I never thought Tyrion was anything other than a dwarf(I really don't know the PC term here, excuse my ignorance) and I never thought Brienne was quite as ugly as made out to be.
