Backstrom needs to get back on his feet faster as opposed to lying there desperately sticking his arms out. He goes down faster than Lindsey Lohan.

Nice.

The shots from around the sides are the ones that he seems to over commit to. It's discouraging to watch, it really is.

Honestly, I think the condition of his hips is coming into play. For how many times hes had surgery on his hips, I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't trying to labor through the pain.

He's going down into the butterfly position way, way too early on a lot of these shots/passes. If he would actually stay up more he'd be able to scoot arcoss the crease and make the save rather than have to resort to desperation tactics every time.

He plays a quiet, timing, and positional style and is working his way back into his first real live action in several months. He'll be fine.

I hope you're right. He has looked really bad so far this year.

He normally seems to be on top of his game more than this. This is possibly the most out of position I have ever seen him. He's scrambling all over the damned ice, dropping way too early, and giving up horrible rebounds.

I still have faith in his ability, but he needs to figure this out fast.

IMO, this has been the biggest issue so far with him.....

Last game there were some bad rebounds. He looks like he's surprised to see the shots coming off like they are.

Both him and Harding need to stop thinking they are defenseman when it comes to challenging shots. Going out to the circle to challenge a shot is a bit silly.

To revisit my thread. Backstrom was 4-2 in the shut out, despite less than stellar stats. If he is 3-3, we don't make the playoffs.

I guess the key was really our shootout shooters. Mn was 3rd in the league at 60% conversion.

Do we really need to bump all the threads from last year?

It's just unnecessary and confusing. We kind of recapped some of these threads already. Why not just start a new thread?

LOL, I see how it is confusing in the other thread. Next time I'll start one and then add a link.

Dang nabbit! Why'd you close that other one. I was going to post I see a great year for Gabby, Roloson and Fernadez split time and the Wild come back from 3-1 deficits in the 1st and 2nd round on to be blanked in the conference finals.
