There's no official word but I know what my guess is.
Again purely speculation from fanatical Hershey fans. I asked if it was a concussion. The answer I got was no concussion but rather a broken collarbone and / or separated shoulder. Hush, hush leads to speculation so take it for whatever it is worth.

I thought I heard it was a shoulder. A bears fan that saw the game could certainly be a volunteer internet doctor.

I would think there are not many upper body injuries that last 2 months but whatever it is, cannot be good.

of course, they're borderline playoff quality everywhere else, but you should always start in the middle anyway

Didn't it happen during the game at VC? There was no head contact that I saw.

LD Depth Chart
Alzner
Poti
Hammer
Erskine
Sarge
Schilling

Hillen

If Orlov is not back by the deadline, I fully expect GM to panic and add another RH shot Dman regardless of how well Kundratek does. Jurcina Class.
I'm still confused on where Orlov wants to be - the right or left. Hunter had him on the right because that's where the need was. Once Green came back then Hunter moved him to the left and benched Hamr. Then Green was suspended and Hamr came back and Orlov went back to the right. Then Green came back again and Orlov got benched never to be seen again.

I heard Orlov said he likes RD for his offensive game and Johnson / Hunter said he belongs on the LD.

I hope Orlov gets as comfortable on the left as he is on the right. This team is crying out for some creativity from the left side of the defense. It would do wonders for the breakout

Orlov Injury

This will not make anything clear.

But he at least looks happy and is out and about.

He clearly plays better on the right side than the left. Every time he's on the left, he struggles. Even in Hershey. He coughs up the puck much more and has a harder time reading the play from the left, for some reason. He's just a lot more comfortable on the right.

They tried Orlov on the left once the full compliment of Green, Carlson, and Wideman were healthy. It didn't work. With a full set of RD already, there wasn't a spot for Orlov.

We are all happy for a win, but our play looked night and day compared to the games before.

Was Buffalo that bad, that we could suddenly complete basic passes?

Or was it as some have suggested, merely a lack of effort?

I think Oates changed up the systems, and simplified. I didn't see our dmen nearly as aggressive offensively.

I will say this, it helps our cause when Green tries to throws pucks to Ovi's wheelhouse on the PP

And much needed win. Hope this will get couple of slumping players moving.

Getting kind of annoying. It would make basically zero sense. I'm not afraid that it would happen, I'm so sure it won't happen but that doesn't sit with Canucks fans.

Taking both Luongo's contract and Ovechkin's is doing several things to the team includng:

Not allowing for forwards/defenseman to be brought in as easily

Screwing both Neuvirth's and possibly Holtby's careers

Providing another expensive scapegoat to use when they start sucking, which they will, because we don't have quality forwards

That alone is not worth it.

Now he just needs to work on setting up those passes so Ovie can one time it consistently. The goal Ovie scored on was the first time in I think 6 or so attempts where Green gave it where Ovie wanted it.

Someone like ShaMo could be a good 3rd pair LD candidate for us now I think

Just a side note. Don't know why I had a thought about him. Mobile and physical to some degree (more than Poti/Hamr/Schultz).

The win was the "poodle pushed into the corner": of course, the poodle will react in a stronger manner.

Usually, you see the poodle react like a rotweiler... not here.

Gonna be a long year.
