How is JWK perceived around here?
That's a serious question.

That said, 5-4 Avalanche Regulation. Duchene 2G, Landy 1G,

Let's hope that Landeskog is ok after the devastating hit from Stuart last game.

Landeskog was up skating after approx 1 second but I was not happy seeing him on the ice again after a hit like that, a little bit of gambling if you ask me.

The hit coming from Stuart is not a big surprise being paired 4 seasons with the master of devastating open ice hits, Kronwall. It looked exactly like a Kronwall hit.

The actual play was a bit naive and suprising from Landeskog. Lucky it was Stuart and not Murray though. (Then both Landeskog and O'Byrne would have been injured.)

The Oilers is a scary team, so much talent, speedy but looking a bit thin (most of them are not men yet), also big question mark for their defensive play. Sooner or later the Oilers will explode though and become a Cup contender, I have no doubt about it, probably it will take 2-4 years?

I really hope they spent some time on the PP in practice. It has looked terrible this year. When you watch other teams on their PPs, it just becomes even more evident just how bad ours is. The units seem to change all the time and the players on them seem to be put in positions that don't suit them (e.g. Duchene on the point).

Right now I'd really like to see O'Brien. I know many people over here don't like him or his play but I think he would add some speed and puck-moving abilities to our defense while not being too soft.

Let's face it. O'Byrne, Hejda, Zanon all look slow as hell. Even Wilson did so far. I would scratch Zanon and try this:

Wilson - Johnson
Hejda - O'Brien
Hunwick - O'Byrne

What do you think?

Zanon has been good enough for me.

I'd actually go with:

Wilson-Johnson
O'Brien-Barrie
Zanon-Hunwick

But knowing Sacco O'Byrne and Hejda will be in the line-up.

I liked Hejda better than Zanon. O'Byrne might be a possible choice as well, though. Slow as hell and also not looking that good on the PK.
Don't care who is scratched in the end, I'd simply like to see O'Brien and/or Barrie back in the line-up, especially matching the young and quick Edmonton team.

PPs all around the league haven't looked good at all this year. It's been a big complaint for everyone (except the Sharks) due to the rust from the lockout. Penguins PP got shutout with like 5 opportunities yesterday against Ottawa and they have Crosby, Malkin, Neal, and Letang on the first unit.

Ours hasn't looked good in ages though. You watch other teams (not just this season) and they just look more comfortable and competent, working the opposition's PK and trying to find an opening. We have trouble gaining the zone!

Our team struggles to provide each other with passes stick to stick let alone dominate the PP. Big skilled teams like The Sharks and others will continue to dominate us with possession, dominance and control.

It's not as though we don't "try" to compete, because our team is full of hard workers. We just lack the capacity.

Dude, why don't you go watch the Sharks instead. You never have anything good to say about the Avs so why don't you find a team you will like better.

Hi guys

From reading this thread, you also seem to be having penalty trouble?
Nice, same with us.

I expect 46 mins of 4 on 4 and 14 mins of 3 on 3!

Edmonton can't keep up in this department.

28 PIM/G vs. 18.5 PIM/G

When we lose this game, this board is going to go to DEFCON 4, it's gonna be awesome

When there are positives to discuss, I'll do that. Projecting that our team will be "AB or C" in two to three years is futile at best in this league.

All I see is what we have here and now. A team that came 20th last year, 29th the year before, and as it stands, are 18th right now.
Projecting that our team will be AB or C right now when all we have is a 4 game sample size is futile at best in this league.

I don't get it, why are you still a fan if there are no positives in this team (as you claim) whatsoever?

I hope it's a high scoring affair. 9-2 Avs or something....Stazz with 7 points. I want him to play people off his back. Best player in my eyes ever. Well, apart from my other faves in Roy / Sakic.

Because of my love for "The Avalanche". At any given point in time, I might not enjoy the players or management IN it, but my team is my team? Do you get it now?

I thought I explained it rather clearly earlier, but hopefully this ties it up.

EDIT: I won't sit idly by and applaud as our team loses. I just won't. Regardless of what people tell me my opinion should be on the team, before telling me to support another. As a passionate fan, I want something better for this team. Guys like Sakic, Foote, Yelle, Bourque & co. built a legacy around this team. It's sad that that legacy is being adversely affected.

We aren't described as the "very successful" team anymore.

You should do something more constructive with that passion.
Maybe go to a practice session and get in McLeod's/Bordeleau's face, and tell them they suck.
Emphasize the point with a good, hard shove. maybe even a slap in the face. Yes. Tell them they are a slap in the face to the Avalanche logo, then slap them in the face to illustrate your point.
Don't just spew bile, Make A Difference!!!
