It deserves its own thread

WHAT'S UP WITH CHRIS JERICHO AND WWE...
By Mike Johnson on 2013-01-28 00:48:04
Chris Jericho has signed a new short-term deal with WWE and will be working for the company full-time through Wrestlemania 29, according to multiple sources. The two sides quietly came to a deal a few weeks ago I am told.
WWE has put a video online with Jericho and Dolph Ziggler going back and forth, so that appears to be the direction they are going in with him.
WWE has already released a new t-shirt for Jericho.

Jericho/Ziggler. YES!
The new t-shirt is already better than that "wannabee" crap last year. That was atrocious.
Jericho vs. Ziggler at Mania? That would be a pretty sweet mid-card match. They could even go on first so that by the end of the show everyone has forgotten about Ziggler and his briefcase...
Best part of the night was after Y2J hit the ring and was pounding away on Ziggler (or it might have been Cody Rhodes), the crowd started chanting "you still got it"!!
Jericho yelled out "I never lost it, baby!"
Great moment, so good to have him back

The more I think about this match the more I think it could be like WM19 with Shawn/Jericho. Not comparing Shawn to Ziggler by any means but I think they could run a similar angle and build with Ziggler/Jericho. I do know that if they gave them 20 minutes on the card that they would absolutely tear down the house.

Lets up the stakes and make it a World title Ladder match. Imagine the crowd and the match itself. God damn.
Word is the Jericho/Ziggler program will go through Elimination Chamber and then Jericho will turn heel and feud with Ryback for WrestleMania according to the Wrestling Observer.

20 minutes with just about anyone and either Ziggler or Jericho will give you a quality match. I definitely agree though, the two of them would steal the show with 20 minutes and a stipulation (like a ladder match for example)

I cringe at the idea of a legend like Y2J having to drag that mongoloid through an entire match at Mania. Might as well announce Taker's putting the streak on the line against Khali.
Ryback already gets heckled in non-smark cities, so Ryback is gonna get absolutely crushed by the smarkiest of smark crowds when he goes over one of the smark Gods Chris Jericho, and it is not even like a win over Jericho does anything for Ryback. I appreciate Jericho wanting to put over guys and all, but he has done it so much that a win over literally doesn't mean a single thing.
What are WWE thinking? This is honestly the worst case scenario for the guy they are trying desperately to get over.
Ryback/Big Show in an 8-10 minute match with Ryback hitting his finish for that "wow Mania moment" is exactly what he needs.
Agreed. It needs to be Ryback/Show. Keep Jericho away from Ryback.
Jericho/Ziggler would be a fantastic WrestleMania match with a super hot crowd. Have Jericho go over Ziggler at Elimination Chamber leading to a match at WrestleMania for the briefcase or World title if Ziggler cashes in.
If they are thinking about doing a MITB match at Mania, then I believe that means Ziggler will have cashed in the MITB before Mania.
I believe he cashes in on Del Rio at the Chamber, we get Del Rio/Ziggler at Mania in the opener. That wipe MITB clear and means they can have their ladder match to circulate another MITB that can be cashed o either title like the original concept.

Jericho has enough moves that would work just fine with Ryback. There isn't much that Jericho does that require him to lift a guy over his head. Provided Ryback can fall, stand up, and fall, and repeat, Jericho could carry the match just fine. Then again, they'd have to book Jericho as fairly strong and able to get in some offense for that to work...so maybe this is more of a stretch than I thought.

I don't even think Ryback can lift Big Show. He had trouble lifting a bigger guy last night (forget who)

That would impress me. The match would need to be more than just a finisher though. Now, if Ryback managed to hook Big Show up for the Shellshock from the 2nd or top rope...that's a Wrestlemania worthy finish for sure.
