hmmmm and how much data does one game usually take up?
Depends on the quality of the feed. If it's 500kbps, which isn't terrible quality on an iPhone, then you're probably looking at something like 1 gig of data per game. So yeah, it'll eat through your data cap pretty quickly.
As an alternative, I might suggest purchasing a mobile TV add on from your cell phone provider. However, I believe only Bell and Rogers offer this, so if you're not with them, then you're sort of out of luck.
I thought that NHL Gamecenter had blackout restrictions on local games, so if you are in Vancouver trying to watch games on the gamecenter app, it won't work.
The Canucks had a Live Game App last year where you could watch all Sportsnet games live for 9.99 but I don't know if they are doing it this season.
As someone mentioned the Justin TV app will probably have streams for hockey games.
I'm hoping they bring back that Canucks Live app, I had it on my ipod touch last season and it was awesome, now that I'm a grizzled iPhone vet and won't have to search for wifi to watch the game that app would be amazing
listened to the game on wednesday on the iphone and it was good. downloaded a bell media app and the team1040 was on it. Worked good and didn't use too much data (maybe around 300mb, I'm not too sure to be exact but it wasn't very much), and will do it again for future night shifts when there's no radio available...
