Wilson-Fisher-Erat
SK-Legwand-Bourque
Smith-Spaling-Halischuk
Clune-Goose-Yip

That's what I would do if we can't get a callup soon enough.

What should be done is Smith gets moved to the top 6, but Bourque to the top 6 is a Trotz type of move and more likely.

I honestly think we should call up Taylor Beck and sign Brad Winchester to an NHL contract. Send useless Clune down to the Ads.

Wilson-Fisher-Erat
SK74-Legwand-Smith
Bourque-Spaling-Beck
Winchester-Gaustad-Yip

I like this.

Yip will get some PP time in Horny's absence, probably Bourque and Hali too...

Why? Why should Smith move into the top 6 and get even more minutes? He's awful right now, can't handle the puck, turnovers like crazy and awful defensively. Sure, he's got the talent, but the way he's playing now he deserves a seat in the press box, definitely not more ice time.

If we move Smith into a line with Legwand and SK74 then I believe his play would significantly improve. Keeping him in the bottom 6 and barely playing him is not going to do any good to helping him get his offensive game going.

"can't handle the puck, turnovers "

Smith does not have a monoploy on this on this team right now.

Theres really little choice to who plays where. One could put the names in a hat and draw for lines it would make little difference until they all come outta the funk and shoot the puck a few times in a real game.

Am I the only one that thinks Yip could actually be more productive than a 4th liner, or am I just blinded by the something the Tootoo/Halischuk Effect? Which, of course, means that maybe a player looks better because he tries so hard, but in fact has no real offensive game.

No Drake I think Yip can do other things but most wish him to be the whipping boy so HE SUCKs. Might as well say it

That's always the issue with this team and its penchant for mid-grade young players that are nothing more than 2nd liners and nothing less than 3rd liners. We have a cluster of guys that could play in the same spot, so this dilemma always rises. Is he not getting enough time with better players, or is he struggling so much he can't even contribute for the line he's on now? Always the question.

There's always a few every year. Mine used to be Smithson, then Klein, but since Smithson is gone and Klein doesn't suck now, I don't know who to go with. Maybe Clune, just simply because I have no idea why he's in so much.

Either way, I think Yip should be considered for more ice time. Maybe he will in fact get some PP chances.

It's possible. He did have 12 goals in 10/11 with 13:43 of icetime per game. I think he's great as a 4th liner personally. If we go with Yip-Gaustad-Halischuk as the 4th line, that's a pretty solid 2way line in my opinion and could pot a few goals for us.

yip, sk, fisher, legwand, clune, gaustad, and gill are all showing promise to be the whipping boy in one way or another.

mine would be yip, fisher, and gaustad.

Can't be Fisher for me. My man crush on him is planted in dry cement. It's not going anywhere.

I'm taking Clune at this point.

I don't get how anyone could complain about Yip so far this year. He's been a fantastic 4th liner.

whipping boy isnt necessarily what they do, more of how they are perceived. for example, no matter what gaustad does he will be seen as overpaid and waste of money

yip has looked decent in about half of the games. he's still looked like a complete ****tard alot too. by season's end, he will be #1 again. he only looks decent right now cause pretty much every forward has looked pathetic as ****

My choice is Clune too. I'd really prefer him to stop fighting, he's really bad at it.

Is the team just waiting on a certain diagnosis to make a call up as Horns' replacement?

not sure. Hali was a scratch the other night so we have a reasonably talented body to go in his place, it just means we have to keep dressing Clune(or McGrattan)...

so I guess they want to know for sure before making a move...

Much better than it could've been, but this season that's obviously still a lot of time. Calling Craig Smith. Anyone seen him? He needs to show himself.

Yeah, this is pretty big. That's 10-14 games which could leave as few as 29 games on the schedule when he returns.

And let's not forget that with the Preds medical staff, this probably means he's really out until 2015.

There's probably no fan base that ever thinks their players come back on time. But with that said, you're probably right.
