He has a point. Outside of Filppula nobody that the Wings are willing to deal has enough trade value to land Subban. Nobody cares about what people do in the AHL anymore. He'd fix the power play though.

Winnipeg would laugh at that offer....no chance they give up Bogo for that.

Ah. I've seen you've done the tedious task of interviewing each and every NHL GM to find out that prospects in the AHL have little value (If that's the case, let's try and get one of Minnesota's AHL prospects for scraps, like Charlie Coyle or Jason Zucker... I'm sure the Ducks would hand us Emerson Etem for free as well. After all, doesn't matter what they do, and they hold little to no value anyways). You also must be GMKH, since none of us really know what goes on inside of the head of GMKH outside of the moves he makes.

I hope you realize you never have anything to contribute or argue, you just throw out statements like these that mean absolutely nothing and try to pass them off as if you know any better.

The truth of the matter is that Nyquist and Tatar and Smith should have been playing in the NHL years ago establishing value. Go ahead in the Trade Forum and ask what people think they're worth. They'll say until they do something in the NHL, not much. I would tend to agree with them.

If you don't want to respond to my points, fine. But this is utter rubbish and not contributing in any way shape or form to the argument.

I didn't realize HFboards was the be-all end-all of talent evaluation and was 100% accurate in predicting future success. My question is, why aren't you and the rest of these people making money managing NHL teams? Clearly, you must be qualified for the job.

Nobody claimed we are, you're just putting words into people's mouth. We are allowed to have an opinion, this is an open forum, yes? At least have the balls to argue that they have more value than dodge around the issue while you try to belittle what people's opinions are.

My guess is Nyquist and Tatar have decent value to GMs around the league, depending on how high that teams scouts are on them. However, there is a decent amount of truth to the fact they don't carry the value we all hope for when trade discussions happen. They are not established NHL players and that does hurt their value. Hard to offer them in swaps for NHL players and the ones you can do it for Wings fans are going to hate.

I kinda thought that it was understood that virtually all of the trade speculation on HF is just that... speculation. Everyone (yourself included) uses whatever info they have on hand, and past history of team transactions (or non-transactions as the case may be with KH) to guess at the value of a player or prospect, or the likelihood of a trade being accepted.

If you're not down with people speculating and going back forth on potential trades, I suppose you could skip those threads. I don't imagine that NHL GM's and scouts peruse HF for trade values very much, so we're just doing this for fun.

Feel free to to throw out who you think the Wings have of value for Subban, or why they can't/won't shoot for that deal. We are literally on the edge of our seats waiting...

Per Renaud Lavoie ‏@RenLavoieRDS

2 year contract for PK Subban with the Canadiens.

Guess not.

Bad move, Montreal. Everybody knows you won't win with a #1 defender. They should have taken the AHL prospects and 2nd line players.

And Subban re-signs, albeit for a joke of a contract. Point...Bergevin.

It's not about a crystal ball, but being realistic. If they were going to move his rights, you would definitely not like the asking price.

Yes. Draft Jones and sign an UFA like Corey Perry. Buy out Mule. Say hasta la vista to Cleary and Sammy.

Nyquist-Pavs-Perry
Fil-Z-Brunner
Miller-Helm-Bert
Abdelkader-Andersson-Tootoo
Emmerton

Kronwall-Ericsson
Quincey-White
Smith-Jones
Quincey

Howard
Gustafsson

Replace Mule with a real power forward. Draft your franchise defenseman. Bring up Nyquist. I'd like to bring up Sheahan and Tatar but we know that will not happen. Andersson should be out of options after this season so he replaces Emmerton, who has been fine but doesn't bring a lot to the table.

Next years roster: No big changes, why mess up a championship team. This is not sarcasm.

Values can be adjusted it has more to do with which players will be here.

I realize Howard and Flip are going to get raises, but is that really enough to increase the team's cap that much?

I looked over your roster and cap per player and I have to say, that roster really really sucks for that caphit.

Mind you, I think your estimations are pretty spot-on, but that doesnt bode well for this franchise if thats the roster theyre planning on running out in 13-14...yuck.

I don't see Holland buying out anybody's contracts. He offered the deals and the players accepted, so I don't see him going back on them now. I don't agree with a couple of them but that seems to be the way Holland looks at things.
