I am not sure given his caphit we can get much for Vis now, but at the deadline we might be able to squeeze out a late first for him

Would anyone be opposed to trading Viz to the Flyers if we got a first-rounder in return? Then their draft pick could maybe help us move up to get Jones if we don't win the lottery. I know they're a division rival, but Holmgren is probably desperate enough to pull the trigger on that.

I hope Viz lights it up when he gets here so we can trade him, or maybe if the stars align, use him for our playoff run.
LA needs a defnsman, how great would it be if we traded him there?

I dont see garth trading him unless we are way out of it by the deadline...

Are they really going to make the trade deadline the end of the reg. season? or is that just Poppycock?(Always wanted to use that word)

We're seeing Streit, MacDonald and Hamonic log 27-29 mins a night, in a couple of these early games.
Isles need Vis to come over to help them. The only way Vis should be moved, is if the isles fall out of the playoff race and have no chance at a spot.

I know the guy's kid is having surgery. I just can't shake the fact that this is all a stalling ploy from Lubo. Thinking if he stalls enough the Islanders will outright release him or send him to an NHL team of his choice. He just keeps pushing that reporting date further and further back.

If he doesn't come over after that Feb. 15th surgery, Snow should toll his contract.

I believe since Vis would still owe the isles a season, he'd be blocked from playing in the KHL for the rest of this season and next season.

From what 1-2 of those KHL fans were saying, Vis has said he doesn't want to retire. It sounds like he wants to play in the KHL next season.

This may very well be exactly what happens.

He'll get Nabakoved.

Why can’t he play for NYI now, go back right before 2/9 for the surgery and come back to US soon after?

Why do I get the feeling after the surgery he'll say "oooops forgot to mention there's a 9 week recovery time and I have to be home"?

Of course it's a stalling ploy.

First it's 2 weeks
Now it's 5 weeks

Anyone who thinks he won't have another excuse once the 5 weeks are up is in for a rude awakening.

^ This. Vis is playing out the clock, hoping we just give up and release him to play for his home team. As it stands he can't play anywhere, so he stretches it out trying to gain an advantage and hope we just lose our patience.
No question he is not acting in good faith.

They don't.
Own rules? There are no rules, because there is no super series.
You can't play 4 on euro ice and 3 on NA ice, and claim that it was fair? Of course it's not best of eight, it's most points , 3 for W,2 for OTW and 0 for a lost game.
Or just a best of 3, one game on each ice, and an eventually 3rd on hybrid size.

Agent says he'll report no later than Feb 11th. Let's see if that actually holds true.

I saw that on NHL Network a little bit ago.

I'm pessimistic.

Hopefully his son is fine. I'll believe it when I see him at NVMC.

Having not played for about 5 weeks so he will be out of shape as well. Mayb a few bag skates will get him up to conditioning.

let him come to long island ( and im pretty sure he will try to come up with yet another delay tactic ) keep him suspended, and toll his ****ing contract. hes fighting coming to long island harder than nabakov did, and nabakov got tolled......so dont think its impossible.

Listen if this is truly about his kid, fine I kind of understand but he should have just came out and said so from the start. If he's using his kid as a pawn, then he's a piece of crap!

I agree. In general even if the reason was simply that he doesn't want to play out east or any reason I would have more respect for him if he would just say it rather than making one excuse after another. At least we knew Muller wanted to be on a winning team and Smyth wanted to stay in Edmonton.
If his son needs him, everyone would understand and if not just tell us the truth.

Then the isles will toll his contract, keeping him from playing in any pro league for the rest of this season and next season. KHL fans say, he wants to play in the KHL next season.

The press is saying the price for d-men, is sky high right now.

The isles were overworking Hamonic, Streit and MacDonald before Hamonic's ankle sprain in last night's game. Isles are in a jam if Hamonic is out for several weeks with an injury.

Vis joining the isles top 4 and producing on the pp, along with Bailey returning to contribute on the pk and picking up where he left off last season, could give the isles a real boost.

looks like he's delaying as much as possible just to play the minimum number of games for the Isles. How many games constitutes "reporting to the Isles"? Does he have to play more than 5 games? 20? Who knows how specific the CBA is on these matters, or even if it's in the CBA or MOU with the KHL (lotsa acronyms there)

It's too bad he didn't come right over. The Isles could really have used him. With the PK being PERFECT, the help SOLELY on the PP, and saving minutes from Finley, Carkner alone would have helped immensely. Not to mention his veteran presence on the blueline overall.

Feb 11th....whatever.
