I wonder how Rondo's injury changes things.

Do you think we can make a push and challenge for that 8th spot?

i hope it means another suitor for jose, instead of us making the playoffs, because we would just be a first round exit and i prefer to give OKC this years pick as opposed to a future one.

Nah, man. If the Raptors can't beat a team like Cleveland at home then it does not matter what happens to Boston or Philly. I think the playoff ship has long sailed.

You don't trade the #1 option.

Raptors aren't looking to trade Calderon, they would rather move Lowry.

Doubt it. He's a fa next summer, no team will give up big assets for him.

I'd probably trade Lowry for Bradley, maybe add Jeff Green's contract on it too?

Then why would we trade him? We're not going to trade him for less then what we gave up.. That's terrible asset management and just another reason why BC has to go if it happens.

Boston is in love with Bradley. They were hesitant to include him in a trade for Cousins, which stopped trade talks between the two teams.

Its frustrating how the whole Lowry situation has turned out. He was someone I wanted when Nash was all the rage leading up to FA, we get him and now he's a backup to Jose despite his good numbers. Doug Smith is saying the front office prefers to trade Lowry rather than Calderon for some reason...we gave up a fricking lottery pick for him and now it seems everyone is in love with Jose again.

I like Jose in a limited role and he has been playing good this year but we can't go forward with him as our starting PG again...trade Jose while his value is his highest and go with Lowry for the future.

I agree. Let Calderon go, his defense won't help this team get anywhere. Especially considering majority of the teams in the East we need to beat have elite PGs (Brooklyn, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Cleveland, etc.)

Yeah I noticed, and I can see why. Maybe, just maybe, if they include Jeff Green in the deal it'll help them lower their salary and go out for somebody in free agency.

What I don't want BC to do is go out for another big man.

This previous offseason is going to go down as one of the worst, in franchise history... followed closely by other moves made by BC including JO and Kleiza.

Fields is already an albatross contract and an amnesty candidate. I'm all for the character or w/e it is that he brings, but you can get that for a couple million bucks on a year to year basis.

Keeps looking more and more like this team won't be able to bottom out. The Lowry pick is going to be in the 5-10 range making it unprotected, yet still high.

The DD contract is looking premature. Could have had him for less if BC hadn't jumped the gun IMO.

This team going forward needs to move Calderon and Bargs asap. Hopefully get a ball in the lottery somehow.

Amnesty Kleiza, free up some $$. The only impact guy I'm interested in getting in FA is Josh Smith. I think he'd be great as a 4 or 3.

You'd then have something like:

JVal
Amir/ED
Smith
DeRozan
Lowry

Even then, you still end up with a team that can't shoot worth ****, but at least they'd pound the glass. Smith thinks hes a max player, so you can already cross him off the list IMO.

Outside of Val, Amir, ED, DD, Ross and Lowry you've got a bunch of spare parts. The only one I'd consider keeping is Anderson.

Unfortunately, fields isn't eligible for amnesty. Only bargs, amir or kleiza.

You're right.

I think it will be Kleiza either way.

Bargs is more valuable as a bench player than amnestied. Amir is playing great. Although he'll be forever overpaid.

I'm hoping the crowd gets a MVP chant going when he gets to the line like the last time he had a game like this.

Aaron Gray with the most unathletic two-handed putdown (put...sideways?) in NBA history.

The Memphis Grizzlies continue to field calls from teams interested in Rudy Gay and are engaged in active trade discussions with the Toronto Raptors, sources with knowledge of the talks told ESPN.com.

Although the framework of a workable trade has not yet been established, sources told ESPN.com that Toronto -- known to be perhaps Gay's most determined suitor -- has continued to make a hard push for the swingman.

The Grizzlies, though, maintain that last week's luxury-tax-slashing trade with Cleveland means they no longer feel the same pressure to move Gay or another high-priced player before the NBA's Feb. 21 trade deadline.

New Grizzlies CEO Jason Levien told local reporters late last week that "we really like our team" and that it is "more likely than not that we do nothing" in terms of breaking up Memphis' marquee foursome of Gay, point guard Mike Conley, forward Zach Randolph and center Marc Gasol.

But sources say that the Raptors, undaunted by that stance, continue to pursue Gay and also covet Grizzlies forward Darrell Arthur. Toronto, sources said, has made veteran point guard Jose Calderon and blossoming young forward Ed Davis available as the two cornerstones of its offer.

Just lol if they trade Davis.

Best move for this organization would be getting rid of BC and sell off at the deadline.

Since Toronto has to make a decision on Bryan Colangelo in the offseason, I wonder if they'll let him run the team near the trade deadline. If you see him as part of our future plans then you would think MLSE will let him run things, make deals etc. If not, wouldn't you just relieve him off duty before he makes a regrettable move?
