Exactly, it's very weird. I'm sure there's going to be a couple extra reviews this year because somebody will roof the puck and it'll hit the top of the net and bounce out so fast the refs won't even be able to tell it ever crossed the goal line.

Easy topic to troll the OP on but I agree with him. I hate the tightly wound nets. Especially when you're at a game.

Unless you sit at dead center ice, you generally don't have the best view of the net on the opposite side from you. It was always real easy to see when someone scored from the other side or other corner, because you would see the netting move with the shot and swoosh around. The nets this year make goals indistinguishable from rebounds if you're sitting on the opposite side or corner of the arena.

Not to mention some of the bounces out are ridiculous. Matt Martin scored on a breakaway at Monday's game vs Tampa and the puck literally rolled all the way to the Islanders' goal. Not even exaggerating.

I agree, hard shots should not ricochet out, and it would be good to see the twine actually bulge.

If anything that puck didn't come out of the net fast enough

The loud "CLANG!" when my team hits the post is soul crushing. Please use a softer metal for the pipes so it gives a soft "clang" rather than mocking me all the time with its noise.

The mesh had nothing to do with it. It hit the back crossbar and came out. Even if there was no mesh on the net, the result would have been identical.

It is distracting, but I kind of dig the goalie's confusion when they turn around to dig the puck out and it's not there!

Haha yeah it makes life easier for the linesmen! I remember one goalie who loved to launch the puck down the other end for me to go get it after he had let in a goal

Why even use a net if you want pucks flying everywhere? What is the point of the mesh?
No for 90 years a goal meant the puck crossed the line, staying in the net has nothing to do with it.

As others have said, this is the strangest thing to complain about. Some people just want to find something, anything to ***** about.

It's more of an observation than a complaint.

But keep pointing out that some fans have different views on certain subjects. Thanks!

The only thing that boggles me is why it took so long to have a thread on this topic? NHL should address this ASAP.

Can something be done about that ice being so slippery? The puck and skaters move to fast, I am having trouble keeping up. Also, something needs to be done about those fans. Making noise and distracting me and the players. Its ruining the game (side note: this does not apply to Toronto, I could write a thesis in ACC)

Not to be rude but if you are going to try and troll at least use the appropriate "too".
