San Jose wants to win a Cup.

Why do they deal some of their best players away?

Drafted by the Avs in the second-round, 33rd overall, of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, O'Reilly spent time playing for Metallurg Magnitogorsk of the KHL before returning to North America this week to nurse an injury to his right foot.

The Sun claims Avalanche GM Greg Sherman is asking for a young forward and a second-round draft pick in exchange for O'Reilly
http://www.thefourthperiod.com/news/col130127.html

We know he is capable of playing center in the NHL.

Young forward and 2nd. round pick.

Bozak + 2nd? lol

Kadri + 2nd?

I really don't want to trade our second. We trade second round picks too often. That's where the ROR's are found

I wouldn't do Kadri + 2nd

I'd do Frattin + 2nd. They need wingers right?

If that's true, it would have to be Kadri/Kulemin + 2nd.

Young forward + 2nd?

Kadri + 2nd for ROR?

Frattin + Bozak + 3rd? I think this one makes more sense for them. Bozie is a great #3C, and Frattin is a good winger for Duchene or Stastny.

I like Kadri and I think he'll be better offensively than ROR but ROR is great defensively.

JvR-ROR-Kessel...

That's a legit first line that would be good in both zones.

Plus, ROR with Kessel would increase his point totals and he would in return give that line a lot of good defensive plays.

And one that's unfathomable.

Why wouldn't they just offer him 3 million as a free agent? He lives in Denver.

Those forwards won't get it done. You need to give up a fairly significant young forward. Neither Bozak nor Frattin are that.

Kulemin or Kadri has to be in there, otherwise Sherman should get canned. I would personally prefer to move Kulemin over Kadri.

ROR
Grabovski
Bozak
Kadri
McClement

Would be too many Cs.

I think Bozie would go back + since he's from Denver and it makes sense. He can slot behind Stats and Duchene

Bozak going back makes sense, but in no shape or form can he or Frattin be the main young player going back. The value is just way too off. He could probably replace the 2nd rounder in that case. That's his value right now IMO.

Bozak + 2nd -- yes
Frattin + 2nd -- yes
Kadri + 2nd --- I wouldn't do. He finally cracked the roster and is playing well. He seems like a player we would regret trading.

Kulemin + 2nd --- Maybe

Anyone from Marlies + 2nd --- yes

If there is any truth to this news, I think its just bluffing by Sherman to get ROR's side to settle on something reasonable.

The article states young forwards + 2nd round pick. I would think a winger is what they want.

In regards to Kessel, I think that perhaps our best trading partner is the Pens. He's actually exactly what they need there. You put him on a line with Crosby, and I think Kessel hits 50g.

They have a couple of very interesting prospects in their system. If we could get Bennett, Morrow/Despres/Pouliot, 2013 1st round pick, and 2013 2nd round pick, what would you guys think?

The Pens fans on the main trade board are drooling at it

Yup. I can see Bozak + Kule maybe. Although I'm not sure if I want to break up Grabs/Kule
