On behalf of the Bruins organization, how about Chara for Gagner?

Gagner has been one of our best forwards so far, and it has nothing to do with production (which has been good). He has been more engaged in puck battles, has had way better positioning and d zone reads than years past, and as a result Kreuger has entrusted him with 3rd unit PK duties. I've always been on the fence about Gagner, and I know it's a small sample size, but if he can continue this throughout the season then I am fine with him as our 2nd line C.

Size in our top 6 would still remain an issue, but Hemsky is the more expendable player if that is the case. That, and getting beefier/tougher in the bottom 6 (Horc and Belanger can't be your 3/4C with Nuge and Gagner in the top 2 spots).

Bottom line, there is very little chance Gagner is on the market right now, and certainly not for HF's perceived value.

From the Bruins I think he could replace Chris Bourque on the B's third line with Kelly and Peverley.

I would offer

Jordan Caron + 2nd round pick.

The problem is that we havent any options in our 2 line then Gags for the moment, so if we trading him it must involve a 2 c, so the deal would be much bigger, maybe involve harski or another prospect and picks. Gagner has opened okay , he look good when he have open ice as in pp and against loose playing teams. He look stronger this year but slower and still looking bad defensively. Value would be as some mentioned Gunnarsson straight up.

This is HF during the deadline last year EDM was offered a 1st rounder plus for him and Oiler management turned it down. HF GMs are funny that is why they are HF GMs.

I responded to a guy that said "he is not scoring much". Present tense. But go ahead, let your imagination run wild with possibilities.

Uh, what games have you watched this year. Or are you just looking at his plus/minus? Because Nail is good on the forecheck but lost in his own zone. Ditto Hemsky. Gagner is the only guy on that line breaking up plays in the Dzone. And his plus/minus has been sacrificed due to being on the ice for at least 3 of Petry's ugly gaffs. He wouldn't be getting PK time if he didn't deserve it.

If we make this deal our centers in the future are:

Grigs
Gags
Girgs

Wed need another G__g center for our fourth line.

Bring Gragnani back for one game and let him line up as the 4th line centre (he has played forward before...) - just so we could see this happen...

Grigs, Gags, Girgs & Grags... EPIC

Far and away the most underrated player on HFboards. Not suggesting he's a fantastic player or anything but the value some people place on him is laughable. My favourite is when posters spin the numbers and claim he's a career 40-point player. Prorate his stats to a full season and he's eclipsed 50 points 4 times - interesting how the spin can work both ways. No he's not big and no he's not great defensively but he competes hard every single night and he's played on terrible teams. He's basically a less mature version of Stephen Weiss. Oilers would be best off keeping him this year and boosting his value as I think he puts up 30+ points. For the spinners out there that's a 60 point season...
