Only observation I've made is that most teams in the West have terrible announcers, at least when compared to Ralph and Razor.

I watched a Grand Rapids broadcast of them and the Bulldogs. They talked more about the Detroit Lions than the game.

Bill Lindsay sucked as a hockey player and as a colour commentator, but he doesn't freak out and seemed pretty neutral.

I don't like them either, but I had a good laugh when they found out every time they said "Desert Dogs" referring to the coyotes people were drinking, they made a point to say it even more.

Yeah Chico is a bit crazy

Yeah, Rick Peckham is pretty good. He is a regular on national broadcasts (VS, now NBC) during the playoffs and occasionally even during the regular season, too.

In comparison to the rest of the league, Anaheim really needs to get their passing game together. Unreal how bad they can be at such a fundamental part of the game. Getzlaf, Fowler, and Selanne are the only ones who can put it on the tape.

Yep. We're ridiculously spoiled with those two. So thankful to have them.

Ana: I have that "All I Do Is Win" song stuck in my head, thanks to a casino commercial. The team really responded to that advert for the first few games, I must say.

St Louis: Cheap Cheap Fun Fun indeed

Was: John Carlson for Hadeed Carpet Cleaning is a staggering work of acting genius

Det: Bell Tire!!!

Bos: How many Legal Seafood ads (always in an annoying two pack) imply someone drowned?

It pains me to say it, but I cannot stand Denis Potvin doing Senators games. I simply cannot watch Ottawa play with that voice sucking the life out of the game.

Tyson Nash also makes the Yotes unwatchable.

That commercial and song is so cheesy, and it plays 15x a game, just terrible haha

Most announcers are biased to the point of being unbearable. Jack Edwards is not one of them.

He basically just makes fun of people when they dive. Every poster on HF is guilty of that.

I'm a Rangers fan and I've watched my share of Bruins/Rangers games called by Edwards. Not once did I get upset. There's quite a few others I had to mute.

He's knowledgeable about the other team and even gets excited when they score. That's a rare quality. Listen to a Caps broadcast. You'd think Joe Benanati's puppy died when the other team scores.

You mean the one they show 8000 times. I swear during the Detroit game it was on for every commercial break.

To be fair, it's actually pronounced like e-raht (the e like in 'bed') instead of the only way I've heard it (ee-rat)

something i've noticed is how HOMERISH most other broadcasts are, mostly this applies to the COLOR guy. It's sooo biased, it was a little unnerving.

jim fox for the Cup-Champion-Kings has some funny/odd tendencies, but the guy almost tries too hard to be neutral. I'd rather have that then the stuff i'm hearing coming out of other analysts.

I don't know if any other broadcast team does the same thing but as crazy as Jack Edwards is, I don't think I've ever heard him say "Seids dumps the puck in" or "Horts in all alone!" etc etc..

Not a big deal but still rubbed me the wrong way, haha
This has bothered me for quite some time too. I can't stand Steiggy.

This C-bus play by play guy talks too much and too fast. You're not on the radio, guy, we can see what's going on.

I'm yet to notice a team in the States without an Enterprise ad on the boards.

I love the regional broadcasters in the US. All terrible homers and make no apologies for it. Call out the refs, the other teams, the other team's fans, coaches, towel boys, you name it.

Guys in Canada do that and they get treated like vermin for appearing biased.

I appreciate the freedom the guys have when doing regional broadcasts.
