What is wrong with Goc?

And if Panthers continue to struggle do you think he will be available?

Doubt he'll be available. Center is a position of desperate need.

Everyone will be available.
Although there's no real reason to trade Goc. Good player, good contract.

drew shore ‏@drew_shore15
Off to Providence for the #AHL ASG. Wondering how long @SquatchDonovan spent voting for himself in order to sneak in the starting lineup?
Looks like Shore is going to the AHL All-Star game. Figure someone is coming back in the lineup? Versteeg? Weiss?

Just an update on the Bergenheim situation, he's apparently filed a 2-part grievance against the Panthers. According to Fialkov, here's the details:
Quote:
The Panthers remain mum on the current status of forward Sean Bergenheim, who is on the suspended list and not eligible to collect any of his $2.75 million salary until he is deemed fit to play.

A source told the Sun-Sentinel that Bergenheim has a two-part medical grievance with the Panthers and it may take up to a month for a decision to be made by an independent arbitrator used by the NHL and NHL Player's Association.
Guess thats why no one is saying anything about Bergy, they probably arent suppose to with an outstanding grievance that has yet to be resolved. I'm thinking this will not be looked on favorably for Bergy to be with us long term so even once he's healthy, I dont think he stays a Panther very long.

For those who don't know, Versteeg will be back tomorrow in Tampa. Goc is probably next to come back with Weiss shortly after. Gudbranson is still suspended. Slowly but surely, we'll have a healthy lineup. Sucks about the Bergy situation.

Until he is cleared to play in a game. I think they said mid February.

If I was Tallon, Goc would be the only player I would lock up. He is possibly the best 3rd line center in the whole game, and he is such a good 2 way player. Everyone else however, I really don't care to trade, obviously Huberdeau and Gudbranson are not available unless it's a big overpayment.

I can't wait to see how this plays out.
Bergie : I was hurt last year playing for the Panthers.
Panthers: then why weren't you here rehabbing with Versteeg?
Bergie : Because I wanted to play in my home country during the lockout.
Panthers: so you were well enough to try to play in Finland but so hurt from last year we should still be paying you?
Bergie: Exactly.
Panthers: WTF?

This should be fun

Idk, it depends on who our 1st line center is next season. Hopefully it's not Goc. Remember, we have Bjugstad and Shore coming up soon.

Exactly. Though I'm pretty sure he had some kind of injury and was playing thru it in the playoffs. So I think that's where part of this "2-part grievance" lies as well so who knows what will happen now. To Tallon though, this will say something about Bergenheim in terms of his character and the Panthers are all about character with their players.

Bergy is just using his rights as a player. I don't think this will effect his relationship with the team/DT in the long-run.

This is what i heard:
Bergy went to see a doctor in Finland, since he noticed that something was wrong.
The doctor figured out what the injury really was about, the Panthers had done a incorrect analysis of the injury and had told him that he is ready to play after the summer, when the injury actually would have required surgery.
After that Bergy immediately returned to the United States.
Now the Panthers suspended him because of a injury that he actually got last season, which they claim he got in Finland.
The worst part is that they can't perform surgery before this all solved.
(Remember that this is just what i heard)

thats what i thought - how do you misdiagnose a broken foot?

btw - as much crap as faikov gets around here, i find he usually does more digging than GR and gets far more in depth info. still haven't heard a peep from GR about Bergenheim, which is pretty laughable considering he's one of our best forwards.
