*ALL* PK Subban talk (News/Speculation/Rumors/Proposals) III
Isn't that Maratime kid drafted in 2014 or 15 thats the trade you need to make.I know its a long shot. The Gm of Montreal made a trade to Harford 2 yrs before Mario Lemiex was too be drafted and we had a shot.
To Montreal:
Jake Gardiner
Jerry D'Amigo (added him in there)
To Toronto:
P.K. Subban
Don't shoot me down, this was speculated on radio, I don't think it would happen because they are in the same division but is the value there? Does it make sense?
EDIT: Sorry I totally forgot about the Subban thread, this has probably been discussed already

D'Amigo is a 3rd line player at best and MTL has plenty of those. And there is ZERO chance I'd trade Subban for Gardiner, no reason to as PK is more dynamic and brings a lot more to the table. Don't get me wrong Gardiner is a fine player but PK brings much more.

Absolutely not. On top, we do not want to send PK to a division rival.

Value isn't there IMHO. As you say, it wouldn't happen even if the value was there; if the Habs were going to trade Subban, they'd have good enough offers that they could and would choose a destination outside the division (ideally outside the conference). Gardiner brings some of the elements Subban does on offense, but just not the rest of the package, and not the marketability.
Generally speaking, what do Hab and Oiler fans think about Hall for Subs...as an outsider, I see that pretty fair for both sides......would Hab fans be happy with that?

Would much rather have Yakupov or Eberle over Hall.

I'm thinking Habs fans wouldn't be keen on that... not in a vacuum, anyway. Hall and Subban seem like approximately equivalent assets to me... one 30-40 goal scoring explosive forward, and one dynamic all-round non-Norris #1 defenseman... but it would just be sideways for the Habs to make the move. But in the scenario where Subban has demanded a trade and the Habs are looking at packages with those handcuffs on... few teams could match a Hall offer IMHO. That kind of high profile single-entity return would be a crucial element of any trade IMHO.

As a Habs fan I'm definitely okay with Hall. I'd prefer Eberle and RNH but I can understand that they're not available and I'd pass on Yakupov.
Montreal has a pretty good width on the prospect pool with players like: Collberg, Gallagher, Leblanc, Kristo, Bournival, Hudon, Bozon, Tinordi, Beaulieu, Ellis, Thrower, etc + we have one 1st round pick and three 2nd round picks this draft. Therefore, we don't need 5-6 "decent" pieces coming our way.
If we trade Subban (hope not), we would prefer that one premium piece came our way. Obviously there could be exceptions, but it could be used as a good recommendation for future proposals.
