The expected happened. PK was getting tired of not having money, and Bergevin slapped sense into him. Good job GMMB!

Bobby Mac said two years, five million. How they were talking prior, it appears Subban accepted the bridging deal of 2.5M

He realized that the team was doing good without him and he lost all his bargaining power.

But if it is 2 year 5M then good on him. That would be considered taking one for the team.

Not really. If it's actually 2 years 5.1 million then Subban is going to bleed him dry in the next negotiations.

he's going to be fine. Habs are going to be turning into a good young team..and within two years Bergevin will give him the 6-7 year deal he gave pacioretty, price and gorges - and I do believe he told him and meehan that

That seems a bargain for habs but it's only 2 yrs and if the player plays lights out he could be asking for a ransom in 2 yrs?

Wow, everyone think this had to have been done without Meehan's recommendation?

****, I'm not as greedy as an agent and I think he got ripped off.

I hope he rakes them over the coals in two years...DD money!

Bergevin FTW!

No surprise the negotiations took so long if he's only being paid 2.5M per at the end. Even as an RFA, I'd have him for 3.5M or so.

Yes! The Saga that should never have been one has ended.

I called it. He had very little leverage with Markov returning to form, and the Habs off to good start.

I think he deserved the money he was looking for but RFA's have to know they are still controlled by the team.

When they are a UFA they can ask for the moon.
