Tried out several bands for ****s and giggles. I try "Breaking Benjamin" and get:

You don't have to be a fan of the band to know something's up.

If you type the band in youtube, diary of jane has 31m views, "so cold" which is by far their best song, only has 17m views.

Wow, my teacher made it really hard for us to study for our English exam. The study sheet is so vague. It basically just says "Read your tests" and "Read the questions you answered". I have no idea what to expect on the exam.

Thanks. Not to mention that it's my first ever exam so that adds to having no idea what to expect.

Do not stress out. Treat it like you would a test. I always liked English exams because lots of times you could be creative and had lots of room to support your answers. As long as you are able to do that, in addition to knowing the things you are supposed to know like story details for multiple choice answers, you should be good.

Exams are just like tests really. If you prepare for them, you will be fine. Good luck Deku. I'm sure you'll do great!

I don't know if we are going to read another story like for our midterm test (where I scored an 80 without preparation) or if we are going to have to remember a lot of things from things that we have already read, like To Kill a Mockingbird.

Should I expect a mix of both?
(Of course you don't know what will be on my exam, but in general, is that what I should expect?)

I have not had an english exam in 2 years, 6 years for grade 9 so take what I say with a grain of salt. I am guessing there will be reading comprehension questions. Some text of some sort that you will read and answer a few questions on afterwards; imagery and all that crap. Then on top of that, I expect there will be some questions on the main texts you read this year. TKAMB and Romeo and Juliet I guess?

If you have any other questions I would be more than happy to help, but GK might be a better bet having written that exam a year ago.

We didn't read Romeo and Juliet, just TKAMB and a ton of short stories. Thanks for the advice, hopefully it is similar to that.

I don't think I'll have any trouble studying for my math exam, I just have to memorize some formulas and how to do stuff. Especially for geometry, on the tests we got to use a sheet with all the volume/SA formulas on it for each shape.

My math exam was actually so simple, Our review had harder questions on it than the exam...

Did the exam focus a lot on y=mx+b and all that graphing jazz?

Oh god, I'm really bad at converting equations of lines.
I'm fine with graphing y=mx=b though.

Do you have trouble converting it from y=mx+b to standard form or from standard form to y=mx+b?

How can I help? Tell me what you are having trouble with, in detail, and I will see what I can do.

I'm unsure about converting standard form to y=mx+b. I think I know how to do it but I'm not sure.

Let's see if I can help

Say the equation is 6x-3y+12=0 then you would change it to -3y=-6x-12 then after that you would have to divide -6x and 12 by -3 giving you y=-2x+4

tl;dr
6x-3y+12=0
-3y=-6x-12
y=-2x+4

Hope that helps :

Okay, that's what I thought, but why is the second line 3y=-6x-12? Shouldn't it be -3y=6x+12? In the first line the 3y is negative, not the 6x, and the 12 is positive.

Why does it change?

So should it be this?

6x-3y+12=0
-3y=6x+12
y=-2-4
