Inserting Dags into Bergs-Stew line is that Dags will take a lot more shots than Schwartz will which could possibly hinder the amount of shots Berglund or Stewart can take. Jaden Schwartz can create open ice and has a great work ethic. I say continue to let him play wing for Bergy and Stewy, let him get NHL experience. If it's not broken don't fix it.
I 110% agree. Schwartz makes those little plays that most people don't notice during a game that helps alot. like getting the puck deep getting it out of the zone making a good cross ice pass that leads to a scoring chance etc. He's won battles along the boards as well. He just needs to keep playing and the points will come, same goes for backes. I think adding d'ags over schwartz to that line could potentially throw everything off... or if were to work out it would be because stewart is a guy that screens the goalie and D'ags has one of the best shots on the team so who knows how that line would work. Either way when ur biggest concern is scoring from ur 3rd line LW'er i think ur team is in pretty good shape.

But for now i'm in the boat of keeping schwartz on the ice playing 10-12 minutes a game and if were winning by a couple goals in the third period i wouldn't mind seeing him on the PP, maybe he could bang a few in and get some more scoring confidence. I feel like he's a guy like perron and about half our team that when he's hot he can really surprise some teams with his skill level, determination and decision making with the puck on his stick.

I'm of the mind that Schwartz should stay on the team, however, if you use coachs reasoning for why he put Frank on the Amac-Steen line was so that they would sort of "coach" him. I can't help thinkin why not do this same thing with Jaden by puttin him up with Backes & Osh??

Perron is pretty much makin his own way lately & would make stewart & bergy that much more dangerous AND I have been watching Schwartz' style of play & he plays more like he would be a damn good fit with Backes & Osh. He spent limited time on that line last spring & looked great!

Berglund has spent time with Perron in the past & they had some nice chemistry as well.

Just thinkin out loud. @ 1st my concern about his appearing to be a step behind was his development, but I did take what some of you said & really watched him more closely. I just couldn't help thinkin he would be more effective on Backes' line, his game seems to be made for that. He does hit hard for his size & backchecks really nice....I would love seein he backes & osh as a three man wrecking crew who can also score goals.

Or maybe i just shyaddup & let coach do his job....lol GO BLUES!!

I wouldn't hate seeing Schwartz swap with Perron. However, the caveat is Perron needs to be getting more minutes and Backes-Oshie are always going to get more minutes than Berglund-Stewart.

Never said that, but good try.

I realize that being the least impressive forward on our roster still isn't bad because most everyone has been good, but he HAS been the least impressive. But if you have to compare him to Langenbrunner's 2 games or D'Agostini's 1 game with 8 mins of ice time to feel better about him, then so be it.

He's been alright, but not that impressive is all I have said.

But that doesn't matter, because his hockey sense!!

Not really his hockey sense, but the plays he's already made this season. We don't really look back and marvel at some of the passes he's made, because they haven't been cashed in. If he was given some second unit PP time, his points would increase rather drastically. I also cannot overstate how much better his defensive game is this year compared to last. He's broken up 2 sure thing, 100% tap in goals with his back checking, and has done a great job of getting the puck out of the zone with a quick pass. I'd say he's been very good, especially for a 20 year old undersized forward. If you expect him to snipe like Tarasenko, then I don't know what to tell you. His game has always been making smart, effective passes to open players, and he's done that multiple times this season. I don't know how you realistically thought he would be playing better than he is right now.

Backes and Oshie also face the opposing team's top line as well. Might not be the best idea to throw Schwartz into the fire so to speak. Berglund and Stewart have 5 and 4 points respectively, so it's not as if that line isn't producing.

As you said, let coach do his job

I want to swap Berglund and Backes. Reunite the kid line, I think Bergy works best with Oshie. Backes and Stewart open up space for Schwartz. I know Hitch isnt to keen on breaking up Oshie and Backes long term, but I still prefer it to what we currently have.

Or dont mess with success, whatever.

Yeah, you can't put Schwartz with Backes and Oshie to face other teams top line. That would never work, atleast not anytime soon.

I personally wouldn't break up Backes and Oshie, especially with Berglund and Stewart clicking.

Backes/Oshie are the best shutdown duo we have and we can put them against anyone.

I never thought the kid line was that good of an idea. Would have liked to see McDonald with Bashie but he's been great for Tarasenko.

The Blues have been playing on very little rest with 6 games in 9 days to start the season. All I know is, I feel sorry for the BJ's to face a fully rested Blues team on Thursday night.

I thought the same but games vs. them are never easy and I don't think this one will be any exception. It's going to be a gritty game.

Aside from the opener and highlights, I've only listened to the games on the radio. Purely from a listening perspective, it seems he's generating chances but I haven't heard his name called on either PP unit. Which I personally find disappointing after listening to several crappy PPs in a row where both units failed miserably last night. Schwartz is an offensive catalyst and a short game(offensive zone) specialist. The PP is his bread and butter given his skill set. Until he finaly sees some ice there I think he'll have a pretty difficult time showing his true worth to an NHL organization. Obviously he isn't large in stature or fast so his opportunities to shine aren't going to come as often when he's playing 5-5.

What kind of PP time has he played so far? Anyone?

Anyone else seeing the upcoming CBJ game as the "letdown game"? Multiple days of rest....road game against a seemingly harmless team that we are "clearly better" than. Yeah, that looks like a trap to me.

Not really. I think this game will be a challenge for the team to play a full 3 periods 'in system'. They've have had the chance for multiple practices. You can't underestimate the motivation there is when good players are at risk of getting scratched. Guys can't really take a night off, or they might get the next one off, too.

I expect to see the most energetic we've seen the Blues since the opener against Detroit.

I sure hope not. They are no longer a team to be taken lightly. I don't think they're a playoff team at this point, but they are going to win quite a few games this year. Hopefully not against us though
