Team can't play a full 60 minutes, the majority of other team's 4th lines are more creative than our 1st line due to Sacco insisting on the dump and chase method. Pretty undisciplined as well.

While the team isn't the greatest, it could be a lot better than where it is.

Goalers [Really good depth]

I would say we're a bubble team in our current state.
Our coach doesn't have any structure and the biggest complaint is we never play a full 60 mins. Yes that seems like universal excuse, but it is why we are losing majority of our games.
Honestly, I look at that roster and can think of two teams that are either worse or on par. Isles and jackets. I'd give isles the edge. They do have three good centers at the moment though none of them are really ready to carry a team. They are young and have potential but don't have the support. I really don't think landeskog or downie are top line wingers. Landeskog is a top 6 player but its a stretch to call downie one. Never been a fan of jones. McGinn doesn't belong in a top 6. Hejduk, had a great career and may have a little in the tank but he isnt much of a threat. I really don't know what to think of their bottom 6, although I do like McLeod.

You can't have one of the worst Defensive cores and be weak on the wing at the same time and be a playoff contender in the league these days. There is just too many good teams.

Every time the Oil scored, he'd send out his goon to stir up some nonsense. Which did absolutely nothing, and actually turned the momentum even further against them due to how big of a liability he was.

I also didn't see him line matching very well at all but didn't pay too much attention. If someone can confirm/deny this I'd appreciate it.

The quotation marks on "control" are important.

The Avs are definitely better on paper but are by no means a lock for even the playoffs. I think they have more issues than coaching. Chemistry and heart seem to be a big hole for them.

If we keep playing like tonight we'll be handed Seth Jones at the draft. No tank necessary,.

Hard to line match when you're the away team.

Plus, you're talking about a guy who puts Matt "No Slap" Duchene on the point on the PP, along with 4 other forwards.

Definitely bottom 5 bud, they were in the hunt for the playoffs up until the final 3 or 4 games last season.

Landeskog/O'Reilly/Downie
Hejduk/Duchene/Parenteau
McGinn/Stastny/Jones
McLeod/Mitchell/Olver

vs

Michalek/Spezza/Silfverberg
Latendresse/Turris/Alfredsson
Greening/Smith/Neil
Regin/Zibinijad/One of O'Brien/Daugavins/Condra

I think I take the Avs' forward core any day of the week, but I would do some very vile things to have Paul McLean as our head coach over Joe Sucko. Don't know why Avs fans defend the guy, he has talent to work with, they just don't want to play for him it seems.

BTW, not saying you're a sens fan, just working off of your avatar

You know when all of you's are in your GDT's complaining about something a coach does in a game? This is what it's like with Joe Sacco for several decisions in each period for every damn game. He doesn't know what he's doing.

He's the worst coach I've seen to hold down the job for more than a year since Ron Wilson. And Ron Wilson though he did stupid things was at fault for mainly a lack of a defensive system. When you watch the Avs on a regular basis, you see Sacco doing stupid things over and over. He makes Gretzky look like a veteran coach.

It's really not a good roster.

I dunno about that. Colorado always seems to come back and win whenever they play LA in Denver. (like the game last week, and both games last season).

They are used to the altitude and play better at the end of games, in my opinion.

Don't know why Joe Sacco got this job in the first place. Colorado's not the most talented team in the league but they should be doing better than what they are.

I am a sens fans an I believe they have a much better forward crops. In large part because they have a guy who can carry a team.

Ya, I tend to agree with you. Neutral observer here, and I think the Sens win on both skill and toughness.

Avs have some great pieces but they are still clearly rebuilding. To win they need to play structured hockey, because they do not have the depth outside 4-5 of their forwards.

Yup, both are one dimensional and can't motivate their team.

We could've hired Bob Hartley!

I'd take Ron Wilson at the moment though. Or steal Eakins from Toronto or someone, anyone.

My biggest problem with Sacco is he is not a motivator, I never see him talk during a game, anytime there is a questionable call or play there are no questions asked. If you are a head coach in the NHL you need to have a set of balls, have a fecking voice! What exactly does he do if he isn't talking? His one job is to TALK!
