Kassian failed with the Vanek around the world variation. Kings feed was wondering if he got it from Kopitar......

Which is absurd because what Kopitar did was nowhere near an around the world the way Vanek does it and the way Kassian tried it.

Agreed, did not like his game at all.

Cody Eakin on the other hand looks like a steal. He might even be better than Ribiero is right now.

Watch Gardiner tonight for the Leafs -- it's a dimension the Sabres don't have with Myers not playing balls out offensively and haven't had since Campbell was here. That element of puck movement and dynamic skating that provide mis-matches all over the place? Yeah, not happening here....

Crap, he was very nearly the best Sabre on the ice in that game.

Interesting stats: The Rangers only have 6 points this season (1 more than us), Pittsburgh only has 6 points, the Flyers have 4, the Islanders have 7 and are in 6th right now, and Tampa is in 2nd with 10 points.

Times are a changin.

If you are trying to convince everyone that its still early I think its too late. The sky already fell and crushed half of our board

I see CAR placed Zach Boychuk on waivers, any interest? 14th overall in 2008, done quite well in the AHL when looking at his stats. Hes a centre, couldnt hurt to try and use this season to stockpile young talent, see what develops?

He's been on my radar since he and McNabb went on that great run in Kootenay.

How does waivers work right now? In a regular season, I believe the first month uses the standings from the previous year, and then it goes by the standings for the current season (that way there will be a decent number of games to rank the teams by). But in a shortened season, is it as shorter period of time or something?

He plays wing more now, I'm down no risk, kaletas out and he brings much needed speed. It's low risk high potential reward. Waive him if it doesn't work. That said , buffalo doesn't have the space too add a player although I do think there is a strong chance he is picked up somewhere.

Tampa Bay is so much fun to watch... not sure if they are built for playoff hockey, but in a short season, they are going to be a top seed.

Agreed. Just overwork you with their speed. Ive gone to two games so far this season and they have looked like the better team in both compared to their opponent. And Aulie has been a terror on their d end. Just always looking for a hit, and doesnt take a crap from people.

My girlfriend had their game on last night and I was watching the Sabres' game and thinking "I root for the boring team!" lol

I'd take a flier on Boychuk for sure. Especially with Kaleta likely down for awhile.

I have season tickets... nothing worse than coming home from the Tampa game, and then watching the recorded Sabres game
