His cap hit is 9.5 million dollars. We'd have to clear an amazing amount of space. That's up to three core players gone.
As I said, it's something I would EXPLORE. Didn't say it would work for sure, but I do think it could be done. At a minimum, you're going to have to trade 2 core players to acquire him, so that's like 7M-8M off the books right there. Then you figure Kimmo retires, we amnesty Briere, that's a ton of money to play w/ there too.
Priority #1 right now IMO is finding a consistent goal scorer to pair w/ Giroux.

Sorry, priority #1 should be finding a young top defenseman.
If this was a Flyer, guaranteed suspension, right?
At exactly the 7-second mark, Volpatti is off his skates while delivering the check, just like Schenn. Schenn gets a game, Volpatti gets nothing.
In , Jannik Hansen crosschecks the referee. As explained on TSN, the officials determined there was "no malice" in his action so no discipline. Seriously??
If a Flyer did that, he would probably be made to take off his hockey gear in the penalty box, walk across the ice to the dressing room and never play another game in the NHL.
Gagne got benched for two games after the first game cause his line was -3. Unfairly benched and he's looked really solid. Has two assists the last two games.
This was Gagne and Richards' best game of the season. Carter is on fire, beauty of a SO goal for the winner. He scored the GWG two nights ago as well. First goal tonight was his from Richie and Gags.

I saw Carts' backhand roof in Game 1 or 2 Who finally taught him how to deke!?
I've watched parts of 3 Kings games now, and Carter has struck me as their best forward...though tonight I'd say Gagne was fighting for that title. Brown has been invisible. I noticed Kopitar, but not really in a positive way. Doughty is a damned beast. At one point a Nuck had the puck in his own D zone. Doughty skated up to him and didn't really hit him, so much as he shoved him so hard he slid 10 feet away. Then he took the puck. I don't know what Doughty did in the offseason, but I assume it involved bench pressing motor vehicles.
The Oiler game was a lot more fun to watch. Their forward corps sees defense as offense that's really far from the net. We ***** about our team, but wow...I don't know how often Colorado just skated through the neutral zone completely unchallenged while Edmonton watched. Hell, once one of their forwards (Hall?) skated alongside an Av, essentially escorting him in, his stick in a nonexistent passing lane.

Kopitar still isn't 100%. Carter has been their best forward, and doing so at center to start the season. I didn't see the game, but I can't quite figure out why Sutter hates Gagne all of a sudden. He was getting scratched and matched on the 4th line, but come up with assists when put with Carter.

I don't know if I've ever heard of a game starting with penalties before the game technically starts.

Gags started last night on the 4th line and moved up to the third line. Soon after he was on the same line as Richards and Carter and that's when they scored the PPG, Gags to Richie to Carter. I'm not sure why Gags was benched after the first game but he responded well.
To start the third Sutter had Kopi on LW with Richards at C and Carter on RW and it got more screwy from there. He reminds me of a mad scientist! When Voynov scored the tying goal Gagne, Williams and Carter were together. Quick was pulled and I don't know which other forwards were on the ice.
