Sherman's thinking Red Wings, Sacco's thinking Bruins. Bad combination. I like Sherman, though. So, can Sacco please be fired this week?

Edit: Replacement would be Quinn for sure.

My choice would be Andy Murray. He had EJ in his rookie season, when he played his best hockey. And he would improve this team for the next 3 years. He isn't a long term solution, but one to bring them back to a respectable team.

Not if you look at the defense he has assembled. Looks like he is thinking Charlestown Chiefs.

Keenan!? I'd rather hire Ron Wilson. And I'd rather saw my own leg off with dental floss than hire Ron Wilson.

Firing Sacco is a must but I don't think right now is the time to do it. There are too many players missing (injuries, holding out), firing a coach is not going to give that jolt we would expect. The roster we are putting out there right now is horrible and not even a coaching change can fix I would think.

And since then he's been a complete abortion at every stop he's made. He's also a terrible GM, but insists on being in control whether that's his brief or not.

If only we gave Kevin Dineen a look.

So do I. He never should have been fired from Montreal. He wasn't the problem.

Best we can hope for, Sacco is the coach until his contract ends (after next season, right?), they don't re-sign him and just promote Tim Army to HC. Another company man, who won't rock the boat. Just like the FO wants it.

Both Sacco and the GM need to go.

We're about to become the 4th biggest laughing stocks in the league after Columbus/Edmonton/NYI because of these two and at least Edmonton's shown signs of improvement.

Wouldn't it be Quinn who gets the nod over Army?

Would it? I honestly have no idea, however I remember reading somewhere that Army's next in the pipeline

But still, no way they're going to hire anyone from outside the organization, and therefore, good.

Even if he was a problem in his last year, the seasons before were a succes mostly because of his coaching. He brings structure, good coaching, discipline etc, all the things we sorely lack under Sacco.

well one thing is sure we need a coach with a lot of experience and JM's case having a coach with a good def system wouldnt hurt .

I really hope that our next coach wont be a newbie , we are still in " rebuild mode " let's build with a good system and let's go forward with it .

I agree as well. I suggested him last year, and still think he's one of the best available. He has connections to the team and PL so it's possible he'd be considered, though I fully expect Quinn to be promoted when Sacco's done.

Should've hired Mclennan when we had a chance failed. Had a chance to hire Carlyle and didnt fail. Could have offered Guy Boucher something and didnt. Fail. Sacco has not improved at all since being hired in this league thats terrible. We already seen this with Tony Granato and we are making the same mistakes all over again. Sacco doesnt seem to have a damn pulse behind the bench show some emotion when your team is getting effed by the refs scream, shout do something to get their attention. The refs prolly know they dont need to call the little things when playing the Avs because well aint nobody gonna complain if they do miss a freakin call.

My vote goes to Jacque Martin. I think he could really help our young players. He was Ottawa`s coach when Havlat, Hossa, Redden, Alfredson, Philips all arrived in the league.
