So can we win tonight? The Pens are not playing well and the goaltending is bad, and Fleury "is one of the worst goalies in the NHL"

I don't know guys.

I would even consider switching out Kennedy for Sutter on Malkin's line. Just get him out of the top 2 lines by any means possible.

(Okay, that was ambitious. Not Sutter, he needs to lock down defensively on the 3rd line.)

And Danny Boy, any means possible DOES NOT MEAN move Tangradi back. Can we just trade him away? I'd take a half eaten ham sandwich for Tangradi. Hell, I'd MAKE a sandwich and give it away WITH Tangradi.

Tangradi + sandwich for a pat on the back.

Did the Pens feed show it? I can't recall the Sportsnet (Ottawa) feed showing it that I watched. That's why I was kind of surprised when I came on here and people were talking about Niskanen getting hurt.

And I like the idea of rotating 3 defensemen on the backend. When Lovejoy gets like 5 shifts in an entire game, it's time to rotate to take some big minutes off of the top 4. Plus Engelland isn't exactly holding his own back there (except for the breakaway stop in Ottawa, clutch Engo. Clutch.)

Plus I'm confident in Bortuzzo.

I'll be tweeting from the media risers in the CONSOL Energy Center tonight. Looks to be a good one. The Isles always elevate their game against the Pens.

Here's hoping the Pens keep their cool.

VPNs/proxies would still work as long as you're connecting to someplace outside the US (maybe Canada?).

I use airvpn but that's a pay service, but I'm pretty sure they have 3/5/7 day trial. Elsewhere I've seen unblock-us.com recommended. Either should work, I'm also fairly certain if you poke around there are instructions on getting to work on your xbox.

I saw that too.

Agree with the bit about the Pens not playing well, though. Hopefully it's just shaking the rust off.

If Hamonic is hurt but playing anyway hopefully they are able to exploit that.

Have season tickets for the Amerks and watched Joe Finley play there before the Isles picked him up. He is the definition of slow and will be a liability for them. Crosbys speed will tear him apart if Finley forces him to the inside. Bylsma has to match them up as often as possible.

Why a 7:30pm start. What's wrong with 7:00pm?

**** Ben Lovejoy, give Robert Bortuzzo a chance.

Simon Despres (6'4") - Kris Letang (6")

Paul Martin (6'1") - Brooks Orpik (6'2")

Robert Bortuzzo (6'4") - Deryk Engelland (6'2")

That defensive core has size!

Because it allows me to get home in time to watch the opening draw.

Would it be too much to ask to see Bortuzzo is the lineup over Lovejoy? Not sure how HCDB can be so quick to healthy scratch Despres/Jeffrey after they make simple mistakes, but continue to play and almost praise Lovejoy when he blatantly continues to screw up.

No way Lovejoy is in the lineup to "build value". He basically has zero trade value and even if he impresses a team while he's in the lineup what is his value going to move up to? From a 7th to a 6th? Woooo

Lovejoy can skate, but his passing, entry and shot are all average, at best. We have players that can get the puck out of the zone (though their recent turnover is a concern). What we don't have is much of an intimidation factor. The Pens D is soff. Bortuzzo, while he lacks experience, is a clear upgrade over Lovejoy

I know DB likes playing veterans, but I think a Engo-Bortuzzo line would stabilize the 3rd pairing a little better.

I thought they were rotating Engo/Lovejoy/Bortuzzo on the back end? I didn't think he was scratched.

EDIT: Oh, I see what you're saying. You want Lovejoy fully replaced with Tuzzo.

They're not even rotating them. Bortuzzo hasn't seen a game yet. How is that rotating them when the others are playing and he's not?

No, I mean for tonight. The report is they're going to use that 3 man rotation on the back end.

A bit OT, but what is this obsession on the trade board with Oilers fans trying to trade Hemsky to the Pens? Is this the new "Jordan Staal to the Leafs" only in reverse?
