Jets need to dump the puck in from shift 1 and forecheck/hammer the smaller MTL Ds and F... will lead to turnovers eventually and quick chances.

4-2 Jets

Montreal might be 3-1 but they have had a really weak schedule so far this year

I lost this one 5-3 in NHL 13. The outlook does not look good

I know they beat Florida and Washington. Who was their third win?

Funny that on their board they are saying that our record isn't great because we haven't faced strong competition

Also lots of talk about how our PK is awful..... of course we haven't had a lot of opportunity to use it, thankfully!

Mtl:

Win vs Washington
Win vs Florida
Win vs NJ Devils (OT)

Wpg:

Win vs Washington
Win vs NY Islanders (OT)
Win vs Pittsburgh

It's pretty close... anyways, it doesn't mean anything, every team is so close...

The Habs are the litmus test according to them, I suppose.

Unfortunately I've got hockey myself tonight, so I'm gonna be missing most of the game (might catch the 1st). Regardless, I think we should be able to keep the streak alive.

Go Jets Go

It's actually hilarious to go to an opposing team's board and see that we all say the same things..... It's all a matter of perspective I suppose

MTL forward aren't "undersized" by any means. Jets fans will be disappointed if they think its a soft team with small forward..

Bourque is 6"2 200+
Moen is 6"2 200+
Pacioretty is 6"2 200+
Cole is 6"2 200+
Galchenyuk is 6"2 200+
Eller is 6"2 202
Armstrong is 6"2 195
Prust is 6"0 190+
White is 6"0 200+

Rude awakening if you think that team is small upfront now... Gionta at 5'7 and Gallagher at 5"8 are small, but both of these guys aren't afraid of anything.

Desharnais is soft as **** tho, but its one forward on the team. Plekanec isn't physical either but at 5"11 196lbs, its not like he is that undersized.

Using Fenwick as competition levels Jets have had a harder competition level:

MTL:
Lose vs TOR: 14th in East
Win vs WSH: 9th in East
Win vs FLA: 15th in East
Win vs NJD (OT): 12th in East

WPG:
Lose vs OTT: 1st in East
Lose vs BOS (OT): 3rd in East
Win vs WSH: 9th in East
Win vs NYI (OT): 8th in East
Win vs PIT: 6th in East

Take it with a grain of salt, but Jets' competition level does seem tougher if you ignore sh%/sv%...
Also, MTL has been over scoring and Jets have been under scoring... relative to team shooting percentages....

Pre-game coach audio

Coach Noel and assistant coach Perry Pearn give their pre-game thoughts. (mid way down the preview). The coach Noel audio is short but assistant coach Pearn had some fun with the Montreal media.

as I said take it with a grain of salt... because the sample levels are super low...

For example Jets were Fenwick + 2 games ago and yet still won...

Montreal is the shortest team in the NHL:

http://www.eliteprospects.com/league...ueid=7&sort=ht

That probably means next to nothing, but it's not an inaccurate statement to say Montreal is undersized. Winnipeg towers over them by comparison.

And let's not even get started on weight. Buff, Pavelec and Wellwood are probably crushing poutines as we speak.

In all seriousness, I think this will be a good game, but I do think that some MTL fans are underestimating the Jets.
