I'm worried that Kesler might not be able to play hockey again.
There's obviously a reason why he's working at Save-On Foods and Tim Hortons, he's trying to make a living.

I actually think I believe you a bit. He's keeping his options open, I suppose. I swear I see him working somewhere new after a little bit of time. Just exploring all job fields I guess. Or perhaps trying to make his resume look better by working at all these places. He's a smart man, I must say.

I would not be surprised if he's working at Best Buy anytime soon.
I could definitely see him making a good commission since customers would always be walking up to him since he's a former Canuck.

We may even see a few commercials with him. Watch out Shorthouse, Budget has a new spokesperson.

You know as much as we do.
Although Gillis said recently that Kesler should be practicing with the team in the next week or so.

Booth, Kesler, Pinizotto would be nice in our line up. Would make our team look much more physical.

If we're going off the timeframes we were given last week for each player;

Kesler should be 4-7 days away from skating with the team. (note - not returning to games, but skating with the team)

Booth should be 3-5 weeks away from returning.

Didn't Gillis say about 7-10 days away from skating with the team on the 20th against the Oilers? Wouldn't that make this day 9? How do you get 4-7 days away from skating with the team?

IIRC Booth healed pretty quickly from his kneeing last year didn't he? Here's hoping he's still a fast healer, if I see Dale Weise flub one more glorious dish from Schroeder...I'm not sure my tv will survive.

Safe to say now, any Luongo deal needs a goalie coming back.

Joe Cannata has been stellar in limited action in the AHL, although obviously he's not ready for the NHL just yet. Hope Lack has a complete recovery and is ready next year because it would be good to have him backing up Schneider, while Cannata receives the number 1 role in Chicago.

Is this timeline an extenuation of what put him out at the beginning of the year?

Not 100% sure about what extenuation means, but this was not expected. He tweeted that he was returning to light skating last week.

Some more stuff:

@BradZiemer
Not sure Lack surgery changes much re Luongo trade. Think the #Canucks were always going to get a goalie back as part of package.

@BradZiemer
Difference now is any new backup would likely be here for this season and next. #Canucks

Quote:
Vancouver Canucks General Manager Mike Gillis announced Tuesday that goaltender Eddie Lack had successful hip surgery.

“After consultation with our team physicians, it was deemed that Eddie Lack would require a procedure on his hip,” said President and General Manager, Mike Gillis. “We expect Eddie to make a complete recovery and continue his professional career after a successful rehabilitation program.”

The Canucks say Lack will miss six months, but should make a full recovery.

Lack hasn’t suited up for the Chicago Wolves since November 24th, going 7-4-3 this season with a 3.00 gaa and a .899 save percentage.

With a two-way contract this season, the news likely doesn’t affect any potential trade for Roberto Luongo as the Canucks didn’t expect Lack to suit up for the Canucks this season.

Just one more reason to hold on to Lu as long as we can.
