Feeling a twisted wrister from the half wall on the PP. And then a few nice passes one which finds Parise's stick in the midst of a change for a goal.

Yeah, with Stoner and Falk as his wingers like I mentioned. The way things have gone, those three might be just as productive as any other on the 2-4 lines.

A huge part of Granlunds transition will be learning how to balance his defensive responsibilities with his offensive talents. Good defensive habits should allow Granlund to get the puck back on his stick and do what he does best. Otherwise he just gets manhandled and can never get the puck to begin with.

Really am interested in these D combos for tonight. I haven't had a chance to watch any games since brodin started playing so I am excited to see him live for the first time tonight!

Pretty evident on shoot-outs the past several years, but also seeing a youngster like Hackett play last year.

Yeah, sorry, I should have put next to that comment in my previous post. I'm very worried when Backstrom is in net. I want him to be confident and have success, but that's really up to him. Maybe he's hanging around Cullen too much?

Minnesota blows up the cannons real good on the road to 48-0.

I am hoping for a good game tonight out of the Wild. They have had a day to rest and Columbus just played last night and didn't arrive until this morning. Games like this are ones the Wild must win on a consistent basis to be a playoff team. Probably will miss the first period but should catch the rest. Go Wild!

So Kassian will be a healthy scratch again. I'm not advocating playing Kassian; but if you don't play him against the Jackets then who do you play him against? What's the point of having him on the roster if he's a permanent fixture in the pressbox?

Better him, and that type of player in general, than anyone that provides a more all-around game. Don't see an issue with it, to be honest.

I think the Wild should try Granlund on the wing, any glaring problems with a move like this?

If he lines up at wing, he'll still get thrown out of the faceoff circle.

The only one really being is that they don't have an ideal player that could center the second line. Brodziak and Cullen are acceptable at stretches but they aren't what you'd be looking for over the long haul of a season.

I like Suter with Brodin. At first we thought Suter would be a nice crutch for his D partner, but he's still adjusting and getting confidence. Remember how hit and miss Gilbert was last year? Suter gets a steady D partner in Brodin who can skate and move the puck. Gilbert will bail out Stoner who has brick hands, Scandy and Falk are each okay with the puck. Kind of ties in with my "stack the forwards, balance the D" theory

With Spurge back, I might like to see:

Suter - Spurgeon
Gilbert - Brodin
Scandy - Falk/Stoner

Roll those pairings, bias the ice time for the first two, don't make anyone play 30 minutes.
Sorry but we need to have physical D-men with puck handlers. Otherwise we have the poor defense we've had thus far.

Scandy/Stoner and Falk are the only physical D-men. But since we are "puck handler" heavy on D, we will need to make some concessions.

To me the best D line ups would be

Suter-Scandy
Gilbert-Stoner
Brodin-Falk

But everyone will go ape**** about that, so we have to settle....

Suter-Brodin (not near physica enough of a duo, but at least Brodin plays good defense positioning to help clear up Suter's messes)
Gilbert-Scandella
Stoner-Falk/Spurgeon

Putting Sutter with Gilbert or Spurgeon just leads to easy goals since they both are so poor defensively.

The best 5 on 5 defense pairings are nearly always a Offensive Dman with physical defensemen. (Suter & Weber ring a bell?)
