We are now the laughing stock of the west. No offense, porous defense, a goalie having an off year. And nothing to look forward to unlike Edmonton and hell even Columbus appears to be turning things around. Last year was our best shot at a Cup. The door has now shut.

Wanna double down on your losses .... gamer or nothing that the Preds make the playoffs?
No I won't go double or nothing. If I am going to bet again, I want something for my win. By the way, please send me your current address so I can send you your jersey.
Sometimes it just feels like the players feel too comfortable with Rinne back there. Kinda like they don't have to work to a 100%. I don't know....2 goals in 6 periods against two AHL goalies....they need someone who can score
If we're not going to make the playoffs this year, then this is the season to tank. With only 22 home games left, the franchise could rebound with the fans from one terrible season. Can you imagine the hype that would occur next season if we drafted one of MacKinnon, Jones, or Drouin?
This franchise has suffered by being too scrappy in its early years. We've never been bad enough to get a Top 5 pick. Muck it for MacKinnon!
If we string together a few wins soon, I'll obviously be singing a different tune.

If the Preds are bad enough to pick top 3-5 and end up with Jones I will seriously phone into the first radio interview that Poile does after the draft and fart on air.
The offensive talent available in MacKinnon, Barkov, Drouin and Monahan is what the Preds need, if we waste that pick on defense...
I'm not sure the Preds will ever be bad enough (or lucky enough) for the #1 pick. But I would LOVE to add Barkov to the mix. Big body, talented, ready for immediate NHL action... plus I think we have a better chance of keeping a European star in Nashville for the long haul (minus headcase Radulov) than a NA player who grew up dreaming of TOR, DET, MTL, NYR, PHI... Though MacKinnon would do just nicely, and probably generate enough revenue that money wouldn't be an issue in keeping him.
Of course I'd actually prefer that the Preds do a 180, storm to the front of the standings and ride it all the way to a cup.
We won't be bad enough to pick top 5. Sadly, as bad as we are right now, there are worse teams out there. Plus, you know Trotz will rally this team just enough to miss a good pick but also miss the playoffs

I'm still sticking to my preseason prediction of us being the 7 seed and losing in the first round. 17th pick here we come.
There was ample talk of us tanking enough to draft Yakupov during the first month of last season also (hence why this thread exists) and we made the 2nd round. We really have no idea how things will be in two months.

And I was so looking forward to a free Rich Clune gamer.
I know that up until last night, the Preds had earned 50% of available points. However to say that is playing .500 hockey is a definite spin job.
I can spin numbers too. 1 victory in 5 games is a .200 winning percentage.
More perspective? The Predators have 1 victory in 6 games. By winning percentage, that's the worst record in the NHL. The other 1 win teams are Washington and Florida* with 5 games played, and Calgary with 4 games played.
*(Florida is about to lose and also go 1/6 to open the season)
Brian Finley? That's about all I can think of that would be worse than skipping on elite offensive talent.
I agree that Poile would be crazy to not try to move up and draft one of the Top 3 forwards (if we were somewhere in the Top 5), but getting Seth Jones would be amazing for this franchise. The kid is a stud.

Oh I agree he's going to be really good, but we've gotta go offense in that (hypothetical) scenario.
