7pts. One game I'm very unsure of is the preds. No idea how good their team is this year, or how good their defense is without suter. Defense is a huge factor for the hawks. If the preds have an OK defense, we can win. If their defense is pretty good, we'll lose. And if pekka rinne is on fire. Our guys get easily frustrated when they cant score. Last night was a good example. Just got sloppy and tired after the 1st.
Iíll be fine with as little as 6 pts if they continue to play the up tempo, puck possession game, like they have for most of this early season. I donít want to see the team play the type of games we saw on the weekend. Fatigue was probably a factor there, at least thatís my hope. We get into the 2-1 tight checking games, we are playing the opps game with too much pressure on our goaltending. I want to see the swagger we had in 2010, where no deficit was insurmountable and teams feared to take penalties against us.
if there's one game I'm certain of, its the sharks. we will win that relatively easily.
How at all are you certain of that? The Sharks are one of two undefeated teams in the NHL. Mareleau is averaging almost 3 points per game, they have an incredibly deep defense and lethal top 6. I was expecting you to say that "If there's one game I'm certain of, its the sharks. we will lose that relatively easily."
San Jose will be playing the night before the Hawks game and it will be there 3rd game in 4 nights. Their 4 games before the Hawks are Anaheim, Edmonton, Nashville, and Anaheim. Let's hope for some tough games and hard checking before they meet the Hawks.
Not to be a debbie downer but I remember a very similar team that had a 9 game losing streak last year, hmmmm.
Yes, Hawks and Minnesota were on top of the league in late fall 2011. Wild went downhill fast, and most of us knew that Hawks record was flattering considering how they were playing. We saw a bit of that kind of hockey in the last 3 games Ė Hawks won on the scoreboard but, imo, have lost some of that early momentum. They need it back with a big win Wednesday to begin this tough stretch.
not sure, but if Niemi plays, he is a goalie that seems to always win against us IIRC.
i watched most of their last two games and was underwhelmed to say the least. the type of goals i saw them score are going to dry up once teams shake the rust off and i think their defense is pretty meh as well.
