Why would the team that currently has the best record in the league want to overpay for a non-essential player?

Even at the deadline this trade would be a ridiculous waste of assets.

Ebbett for the gum under your row 1 seats.

Eller for 1st, or 2nd 2013, 2nd 2014 and 3rd 2013?

I would be glad to bring in Eller but doubt the Habs would trade kid without asking for too much
Habs new system teaches physicality and toughness. Eller was scratched for 2 games for pretty much being too soft.

So, I'm sure they'd look for Beach and McNeill. Danault for him I'd do, but I see other Hawk fans are realizing that Danault is a nice prospect and that deal would be highway robbery.

I'd love to get both McNeill and Beach. Beach would likely be 14th/15th for forward depth on the habs. I think that would be higher than he has on the Blackhawks, so he'd be closer to the NHL.

I think trades will be hard to come by right now. Injuries are going to happen, and center depth is going to be highly critical. When the Canucks are healthy we have Sedin, Kesler, Schroeder, Lapierre, Malhotra, and Ebbett. Personally, I wouldn't move any of them as I believe the rigors of a shortened season are going to leave teams depleted.

I'm guessing you guys are going to want to make a splash for a big target if your season continues to go well. How much salary can you guys take on at the deadline?

I always thought Chicago preferred Bolland on the 3rd line and wanted somebody for the 2nd line C position.

The past tense is quite accurate here.

What would Stoll get LA. Not saying I would want to trade him but with the amount of depth at centre maybe he could be had.

A 3rd line C is easier to acquire than a 2nd line C, and Bolland has shown he can be decent in the 2 hole.

Regardless of their personal preference....

Sharp and Kane can both be decent in the 2 hole.

I like Bolland at the 3C slot because it puts him in a position to match up with the other team's top line, and do what he does best. Finding a shutdown 3rd is harder to find than a decent 2 hole.

Eller, take Eller. I love the kid, want him to see succeed. This won't happen under MT/MB.

McNeill, TT, Danault, Beach and Hjalmarsson are who I'd like... Also appreciate picks.

Also, the kid might be able to take over the 2nd Line with some confidence. (Obviously I'm not saying being a better player than Bolland.)

Frolik + Pirri + Beach

Pirri is lost in forward depth and would be in the NHL on about half the teams in the league.

Beach has minimal value but I've seen more than a few MTL fans wanting him for some reason.

Frolik is playing great right now, is still young and needs to be included for salary reasons.

We need value if we give you value. For the moment we have too much quantity, we need more quality.

Any deal for TT would have to include Pleks, he's our top prospect.

Maybe McNeill for Eller but I'm not sure what either team would gain from that...
