Where are they?

Same place where they always are - never giving anyone a chance after the first impression.

Such a lazy bum! Completely done after scoring only 19 goals last year playing half a year with the worst coached team in Habs history

Two of these? He played like **** last year, that is why we think he is a ****** player. Glad he has turned it around.

Why? He was absolutely atrocious last season. On many nights he played like someone who did not care to be a Hab, or even a NHLer. He was basically mailing it in.

Of course, it contributed to Suck for Galchenyuk so it wasn't all bad in the end.

Completely different player so far this year.

Sure, but there is a HUGE difference between playing like crap and being crap. He had a **** year, the whole team did pretty much, doesn't mean you ship the guy out to siberia....

This

Bourque deserved all the criticism he got last year. Not only in Montreal but in Calgary too.

However this year he seems to be born again. He may be back into his 30 goals scorer form. Time will tell but right now he's playing A1.

As was said... he played like **** last year and deserved to be bashed. And if he played every game like he has over the last two or three he wouldn't get that kind of heat. Nobody has ever doubted his ability... it's his heart that's always been the problem.

And I agree, if Bourque wasn't inconsistent he'd be paid a lot more. But he is. He isn't being paid for what he isn't.

You might want to wait for Rene Bourque to actually score a goal before proclaiming crow for dinner.

All I said about Bourque back in September was that he might have played hurt last year.

It's been five games but the crow has never tasted so good.

Hello, Mr. Bourque.

That's really easy to say when you've followed (maximum) 40 of his nearly 500 career games, but whatever I guess.

I badmouthed Bourque many times and still do sometimes...I'm right here

That's how forums/sports are, people **** on players that are playing bad and praise them when they are playing good.

And revisionist history majors. "Look how good he is right now. He couldn't possibly have been bad for most of the past 2 seasons, right?"

He's back to the form he had 3 years ago. Looks like he did have injury problems after all.

Very big break going the Habs way if he keeps it up.

I'm gonna have my crow medium rare please. I didn't think Bourque could turn it around like he has but I've got to give it to him, he's been playing great. I was pumped to see him get one tonight, as he had done everything but score the last couple of games.

Off topic, but I really thought he'd get lost a bit more trying to keep track of what's going on through all 3 zones at the NHL level. He still hasn't endured the test of physicality over the season, so there's nothing to gloat about there yet. There's no doubt that his chemistry with Chuckie is part of the success story so far, but I don't think Therrien would have kept him up full time if there was serious work to be done on the defensive side of the puck.

So the big surprise to me, is that he has apparently picked up Therrien's system so quickly; not just in practise, mind you, but in-game at full speed, too. Hockey I.Q. could be higher than I expected, for sure. You let high calibre guys like Chuckie loose a bit, but guys like Gally have to bring the whole package to stick full time this early. I fully, and honestly, expected that it would take him at least another season to get up to the level where his overall level of play would have a chance to erase any size concerns. I'm still skeptical, but grateful that he gets to put a ~40 game season under his belt before he goes through a full 80+. Kudos to him for the work he must have done this off season.

The Bourque hate last year was perfectly understandable. But MT's system is doing good for him so far and unless he gets injured or the team's core starts to go awol, I don't think he'll stop performing like he's doing.

He played like **** last year. I always was in the cam that felt he needed more time/second chance. And now he's playing great. He better not start getting lazy because people here don't forget. And Therrien probably won't let it slide so easily. Hope he keeps it up. I think the new team, management crew and coaching staff is really helping him out.

Excellent job so far. Glad he's finally scored a goal.
