Danny Kristo could be going to jail

Old story but he is accused of illegal distribution of alcohol to underage teammates during a party organized by the team and it says he could end up spending 6 to 12 months in jail.

He would absolutely burn out in this city, with his current makeup.

I'm sorry but jail time for that is completely ridiculous. Should be a fine and maybe a small probation period but jail ? This is ****ed

And then they wonder why prisons are overcrowded

I was never a big fan of Kristo the hockey player but is this a joke ? 6-12 months for buying beer for teammates ? Seem a little ridiculous to me.

Pretty sure a merely competent lawyer will be able to get him out of any possible jail time.

No doubt Kristo will need to live with a vet if he's ever part of our team lol.

That seems a little excessive... 6-12 months? Come on.

Maximum potential sentences for a charge and actual outcomes an be radically different. Then again, America is bats-in-the-belfry crazy in that regard, some places and some charges. Nomatter how slice it putting a kid in jail for hosting a party for teenagers with, gasp, booze, is crazy.

He's gonna sell a lot of newspapers in Montreal.

I doubt he actually goes to jail. Will probably be sentenced to community service.

We need to get rid of this guy (srs)

Did you drink before 21? Do you expect 19-20 year olds not to? It's excessive when people say what he did is even an offense.

I bought alcohol myself at SAQ when I was 16 and shared with other minors. Waiting for my jail time.

Big if at this point. We all know how the Habs hate people that go against the teams attempts at a shinny image.

A better question may be how it affects his eligibility. He may be in Hamilton sooner rather than later.

Distributing to minors? That's what College is about.

****ing Americans and their priorities. 18? Can't have a beer, but here's a gun!

Indeed. At 18 you can :

1. Join the army and shoot/kill people
2. Drive cars which, if driven irresponsibly, can easily cause the death or injury of people.
3. Vote for the president of the world's most powerful country
4. Own firearms
5. Marry
6. Have children

BUT don't you dare drink a 3%alc or something Miller Light!

Yep...I've been saying it forever (this applies to the legal age of 19 in the rest of Canada as well)

If you're old enough to vote and you're old enough to die for your country....then you're god damned old enough to have a beer!!!

The US legal system is the worst on Earth.

Like I said, in Montreal people 17-18 go to clubs/bars 3-4 days in a row and it's considered having fun. For a college student who is a hockey prospect, party animal and disgusting!!! Sure, he's doing his thing and not going mature route but I'll worry about how he acts as a pro. Maybe he's getting it out of his system so he can move on afterwards.

I absolutely agree with anyone who thinks that this being an offense is ridiculous. Bat**** crazy, to be honest.

But... He should have known better, especially when the guy is aiming to be a pro athlete who will have ridiculous attention everywhere in this city. He's not "just a kid", whether he likes it or not.
