First off, I wouldn't trade Coburn if I was in ATL.

Hypothtically speaking

Jussi Jokinen and a first round pick for Coburn (assuming Dallas has a pick in the 15-30 range.

Brendan Morrow, Martin Vagner, 1rst rounder

Coburn, Stefan. 2nd rounder

or

1rst round pick (top ten)

for Coburn

WHat do you guys think?

Coburn is available, if the "Price is Right!"

Quite possibly the WORST offer ever seen on these boards. Try elsewhere if you're trying to unload has-beens and never-beens for top prospects.

Sure dude, if you are ever in Texas. What would the "right price" for Coburn be, in your opinion?

And why would the Thrashers take a top 10 pick this year for a guy they drafted at #8 last year who is a) everything they expected, b) a probable #1 defenseman in an organization that has no other prospect like that, c) large, growing and gaining experience, d) one year closer to making the club, e) and generally a nice guy and potential leader?

Why?

Yes Coburn is available for the right price, everyone is! But the right price for him is a legitimate 1st line scorer (preferably a centerman) with at least 3 years experience and a reasonable contract.

Ya got one of those?

Why would you trade Coburn for a forward? Haven't you had your fill of tacos this season? The only thing I would trade him for is a top-two defenseman ala Roman Hamrlik.

Dallas is just a bad trading partner with ATL.

To ATL

Comrie, Doug Lynch, 4th rounder

To EDM

Coburn

Because of a guy named Cam Barker who is better than Coburn. With Dallas sucking right now, they'll have a high pick and you all can pick from Malkin, Wolski, Schremp, Barker, McGrath....etc.

Why trade now? Neither Coburn nor any of those guys will play in the NHL this year.

Too much risk for the Thrashers in that deal. Wait until the season's end to see where Dallas picks. Almost certainly not with a top 10 pick!

Any trade for Coburn yields a top player for this year. If a young top 2 defenseman is available great, but this team still needs a #2 line centerman. Then Patty steps back to the #3 line where he belongs.

Comrie for our #1 looks good to me--but it seems that Ducks have worked out the details.

ATL's GM has already stated that Coburn isn't going to EDM for Comrie.

I wouldn't make that deal either. Top 2 defensemen are soooo hard to acquire. ATL has a great offense this season without Heatley. Offense is fairly easy to add--it just takes money. Nobody deals a great defenseman with a salary restrained by the rookie cap.

Defense is the current and future priority for Atlanta. Offense we have, even without one of the league's better offensive players.

We got lucky with Exelby taken in the 6th round. We have a known and growing commodity in Coburn. Don't know if he'll live up to his promise, nobody knows. But unless the scouts see something spectacular in another defensive prospect that we can get, why trade Coburn?

For the first time, we actually have a coach that can utilize the assets that he already has. And thankfully in our case, moreso than just about everyone thought. There is no need to push for a deal, especially now.

For a playoff run, maybe. But even then it shouldn't include Coburn in any deal. He just looks too valuable in the long run.

Sorry, was thinking of where Pasi was drafted for some reason.

Low round pick, productive NHL player: a steal.
