Honestly, they're going through the motions. Sugar coat it however you'd like, but this is January 2009 all over again.

It amazes me this Power play can possibly look this bad. There is no imagination. It's the same thing over and over.

I think Bylsma may have to go this year. Something is off. They don't have the most talent in the league but they do have the 2 most talented players. this is unacceptable.

Shero has had Sid for 8 years and he still has Dupruis and Kunitz as his wingers. He continually drafts D and hasnt had a forward drafted make a signifigant impact.
It's getting to the point that the Pens don't even deserve to have a player like Sid. They surround him with crap. They make no attempt to better the situation. Shero drafts a winger in Beau Bennett, and at the point that it looks like he might be ready to skate on Sid's wing, Shero says "**** it, I'm going to carry Ben Lovejoy on the roster."

And don't even get me started on Bylsma right now....

Kuntiz is done in this league. I noticed he lost a lot of the speed he had last season. This year, it's blatant. He just doesn't have the legs anymore. I hope Shero has noticed that. Too bad Shero didn't trade him last year while he still had some value. I don't understand how the coaches/scouts couldn't see it last year either.

Dan Bylsma isn't going to get canned unless this continues for a good amount of games. Which it probably won't because Sid and Geno will get their points, and we'll get a few wins because of it, and nothing will ever change.

Piss poor goaltending.

Two things made this game. The failure of the powerplay to gain any sort of momentum early on. Just a shot might have been something.

And then when the team does start to gather something together, Fleury decides to fall apart. I've never seen such a fragile goalie. The Islanders have been getting opportunities, but most of the time the Pens D is cleaning it up. Nothing was getting to Fleury. Christ.. probably a good thing too. Might be 8-0

Start Vokoun, and shake up the powerplay. Kunitz out. Letang out. Fleury out. Probably won't win, but these guys need a shake up.
Translation: I just look at stats and the stats say Fleury let in a bunch of goals!

The only thing that makes Penguins games tolerable right now.

About the only positive thing I have to say.
I agree. I think he's looked especially good on that line on the defensive side of the puck.

Watching Strait play as well as he has, I feel kinda vindicated over my mild outrage of the Pens sacrificing him to start Despres in the NHL. He's been on Malkin and looks good.

Has to be evident that DB's systems and the effort he gets from his players is lacking. I would think he's on a short leash. Meaning, if system breakdowns and lackluster efforts continue for a stretch, his job is in serious jeapordy.

It was Therrien's squad with some positive reinforcement from DB that won the cup. DB hasn't proven anything really with his full control for 3 or 4 seasons now in my mind.

The win streak they had last season was based purely on this teams offensive skill alone and the defensive side deteriorated to the point of an embarassing performance vs Philly.

DB may be a great coach to play for but he's not a very good coach.

Actually Hoegaarden is from Belgium.

I don't drink Canadian beer as 99% of it = carbonated moose piss.

Imports for me all day everyday.

Say the Pens pull off a miracle and score 3 on this powerplay. Does anyone here have faith that Fleury could keep it there?

No offense, but the outrage should be at the decision to keep Lovejoy on the roster.

IMO, Pens two best defensemen tonight are Despres and Strait . . . oops, my bad.
