He doesn't really play the point. He plays the half-wall and roams around. He was pretty good there last year. He's basically the 5th option. He hasn't been great this year, but I don't know how you can single him out.

Homer chased too much. If he'd resigned Carle and Jagr, we'd be in great shape right now.

That said, if Giroux, Timonen and Voracek handle the puck like a pinless hand grenade on our vital 3rd period PPs with the game on the line, it doesn't really matter who is coaching.

The Flyers are a young team trying to integrate new players. They are not playing bad hockey, it will come. Patience.

I really cannot understand how you don't think this is bad hockey. This is the worst hockey i've watched since 2006. It's heartless, brainless and isn't even approaching entertainment.

Well, it does do that. But in the same way your car can sometimes be in an entertaining shape after a train runs it over.

i think people are overreacting too but don't say we should've resigned carla and jagr over going after praise, suter and weber. come one. we even get one of them and its worth losing those guys. we did end up with a worse case scenario tho. that said both those guys got overpaid. the one guy who's annoying me and seems like he's a hair off at all times is simmonds. he's makin mistakes and missing good chances to score. but he's young. like most of the forwards.

I wouldn't call them the cornerstones of the Kings. Kopitar, Doughty, Quick, Brown seem to be the big guns on that team. I get the initial point though.

Here's the question that I think needs to be asked. Did they overperform last year with all the rookies in the lineup? If that answer is no (which I think to an extent it is) then your grounds to fire Lavi have merit. If Homer thinks they did and Ed does nobody gets fired and they eat the season/turn it around.

Kopitar and Brown have been invisible. Doughty, Quick, Carter and recently Gagne have been big for them.

I think we'll see Homer make a trade before he fires Lavy. Like when he traded for Carle in 2009 when we had a slowish start. That seemed to turn the team around a little.

But I honestly don't see a trade helping this team right now, so I do think Lavy has to go. I just don't think Homer's gonna do it right away.

This was obviously a joke but the closest thing to that would be new ownership. Of course you can't fire the owner but I think it's legitimate to wonder if Snider is too impatient/exerts too much influence on personnel decisions. Is the wheeling and dealing the team has done the last few years Homer's MO as a GM or is it Snider pulling the strings?

After 7 games? No.

Yeah this has been a brutal start but I am a lavy fan and he deserves some time to get things turned around.

i would not fire lavy

this 48 game season is crazy. yes the team is young, injuries are killing us, most of the team is playing poorly. if this was an 82 game season, i would say lavy is in trouble and more losses in the next 10 i would say yah fire him. but in this 48 game season if he can get giroux, brayden schenn voracek coots to improve and finish strong, then that would be enough in this 48 game season. and if we finish bad enough, we would net a juicy draft pick. which i would prefer in a 48 game season, and would not in an 82 game season.

I dont really follow here. Assume we start bad in both cases, in the shorter season, we have less margin for error and less time to turn it around if we finally start winning games.

I think it would be a lot easier to turn it around in a longer season. That being said, I also think its harder to fire a coach with just 48 games.

I dont think it's smart to fire a coach in a shortened season. You do that, and the new coach has no time to be teaching a new system and all that other jazz. Just got to ride this out.

What are you going to trade? The only assets of value we currently have either play for our team or is our first round pick. We can't continue to trade first rounders with our prospects the way they are.

well, something has to be done to improve this team or else you will be complaining about this team of not making the playoffs for the next 10 years. failure is not an option for snider and if these players dont play right, there has to be accountability, these players are not first overall pics, i dont believe these players are top ten, it's the reason why columbus and la gave them up, look where they are now, they are playing better than the flyers.
