Even more so than last year!

Anderson was MVP last year too -- or at least an honorary MVP.

I am looking forward to when Lehner is finally full time in the show and backing up Anderson. A scary combo. I hope Bishop starts to rock some good games too.

Andy just won us another game against the Caps. Without his stellar play there was no chance at a win since this game would have been over early.

Some goalies are paranoid about not losing their place to a backup but Andy is very mature, confident and a team player. The Sens could bring up Lehner and it wouldn't change Andy's game one bit.

Bryan Murray said they had Anderson on their radar for a long time and seemed surprised when he was offered up for a trade. Bryan hit a home run for the team when he got him.

Thank you Andy for re-signing here at a decent price.

I wanted us to sign him when he was about to hit free agency but we traded for Leclaire instead...

Imagine if we had him before Colorado?

Could have had Landeskog.

And still had no reliable goaltending, forcing us to rush Lehner. Pass.

Anderson came in and won us games, while Elliot went to Colorado and lost them games. Colorado dropped to pick 2nd, we fell to 5th and picked 6th.

Lol, I was part joking in my post.

We made the Elliot trade when we were last in the league IIRC, no way we would have won the amount of games we did without Andy's miraculous streak. We would have finished last in the league with Elliot.

Either way, hindsight is a funny thing. Of course we look amazing now and without Andy we wouldn't have SNIFFED the playoffs last year.

Who knows, we may have drafted RNH/Lando, traded Rundblad+2nd for Varlamov etc...

Or maybe we keep Elliott, we finish last, we draft Lando, and THEN we sign Anderson as a FA and we make the playoffs anyway, and with Lando to boot. And Brian Lee. </armchair GM>

goalies need confidence.

we gave it to Andy by trading for him and signing him

I think we were 2nd cause I seem to remember Edmonton being out of reach, which is why everyone was talking about/fixed on Landeskog. Either way, I'm fine with it. Prefer playing to win, and Landeskog isn't even playing atm so

i just have complete confidence in him back there every night. its a great, great feeling, and its something we've only had in short spurts over the past 20 years. lalime at his best was capable of some very good play and i liked him, but you always knew if bad patty showed up, and it was always possible, we were in trouble. tugger was solid and had a good run in '97, but i think we all figured at the time it was kind of a cinderella thing and he wasnt going to be a guy we could ride year in year out. emery provided a very good stretch but he was always volatile and never a good teammate. hasek gave me the same feeling for the time he was here but then he got hurt.

no one has given us this long a stretch of sustained very-solid-to-excellent play in net in our history.
