I see how age can effect value, I think gunnarsson is the closest value wise but neither team does this

I don't think so, the Canucks could use players like Simmonds and Gardiner. That's obvious.

I never said he would be the centrepiece. I think you're the only person that took it that way.

What would you guys want from the Oilers for Simmonds? Could it be a forward for forward swap, or do you guys want a defenseman? Cause the Oilers are in no position to be trading away defensemen.

There's no reason to exchange him for another forward.

Something involving Gunnarsson or Liles?

EDIT: I see we've already run this course.

While i'm, not totally against trading Gardiner....you want Gardiner, we want a good center, not another winger.

doubt we move Simmonds.

Guys more likely to be available at the deadline if we're out of it:

-Briere
-Fedotenko
-Read
-Knuble
-Timonen
-Meszaros
-more garbage like Gervais, Lilja, Foster

Briere, Timonen and Read should fetch a real nice return. The rest are most for depth

wow...Simmonds in under valued. He is 23, big, can fight, and goes to the front of the net. He was 17th in RW for Goals...30th for points(Giroux was listed as a RW but we all know he was a C last year). That is Top line production. And at worst...high end 2nd liner. And people are offering Liles??? We is only traded for a yound D-man with upside...like a Gardiner, Bogosian type.

The only forwards that the Flyers would be truly interested in are Hall, Yakupov, RNH, and Eberle. So if you're interested in Simmonds+ for one of those, then yes. If not, then I don't see anything.

Simmonds has probably been our best forward this season so far. No way we move him, he's young, goes to the dirty areas, has a long term contract, plays 'Flyers hockey'. No way I move him.

Sharks should definitely be interested. Jason Demers would be the centerpiece of the deal. What else would Philadelphia want from San Jose?

The Flyers d-men are not that bad, they just run an offensive system and Homer brought in more defensive d's. Kimmo and Briere both have ntc's also.

I don't see much of anything changing this season. If they don't play well their coach will probably get the boot instead of the players and they will evaluate the players in a more defensive style system. Simmonds should not be available either way.

I would definitely do Braun+2nd for Read

Marleau-Thornton-Pavelski
Clowe-Couture-Havlat
Galiardi-Gomez-Read
Burrish-Desjardins-Wingels

Stuart-Boyle
Vlasic-Burns
Murray-Demers
Irwin

We desperately need another RW that can pot 20+ goals. Galiardi, Wingels, Gomez and Handzus are all lefty playmakers... They always just pass it around the zone and never get a shot off lol
