It is always funny to read the comments of Sabre,Habs, and Leaf fans whenever their respective team goes on a skid. Us northeast fans are off of our ****ing meds sometimes, lol (I too am guilty of this from time to time).

With that said... That loss tonight was completely unacceptable. Ruff does need to go.But sadly that will probaly take a couple of seasons picking in the top 5 for it to happpen.Sigh.

The Kings would like their moniker back, thank you very much.

Seriously? Keep this whining **** to the Sabres board. We don't deserve main board threads. Other fans shouldn't have to be subjected to us.

Pretty much. At least this is the best year to tank since 2008. If we are really going to do this right the front office better grab another 1st rounder like last year. Myers has been horrendous. The only bright spots have been Vanek, Pommers, Ehrhoff, Miller, CoHo. Outside of those 5 no one can play hockey. ^_^

At least Grigs scored his first goal tonight as well, was fun to see as well as his celebration! =)

Don't really know what to say about the title, OP..
They look like they might be one of the worst Sabres teams in recent memory, both on paper and on the ice, but surely not one of the worst in NHL history.

Meh, if you watched Myers more you probably wouldn't want him and his contract, although the massive $10m signing bonus has already been paid.
The organization basically decided he was their #1D that they were going to try to shape into something he's not (Chara/Pronger type) and backed a dump truck full of money up to his doorstep based on their hopes for him, not his performance.

He's not anything special, not bad but not terrible, but the problem is that he and Ruff are seemingly attached at the hip.
I didn't like the extension at all though because of the timing.
His contract was expiring at the end of the season and Pegula claimed that they had an agreement that he'd be extended for some time, which just seems fishy to me and makes me wonder how much of the decision was based on performance and how much of it was based on Pegula liking the Regier/Ruff tandem..
If it's more of the latter, this organization will probably end up continuing to be mediocre.
Although, I don't know how I'd feel if they weren't mediocre, as it's all I know.

Between this thread and the Philly/Florida ones we should put together a poll for our respective bases and place bets too see who finishes first (by that I mean last) at the end of the season.

All my Vcash on us.

Bring it Flyers and Cat fans, lol.

Say what you want about them but nobody deserves to go to the hospital with a neck injury.

In history? No.

70s era Canucks were dreadful. 50 loss season? No problem...

And the '73 Islanders are impressive - 60 losses in a 78 game season - with a -170 goal differential. That means losing 5 games out of 6, by an *average* of 3 goals.

The '74 Golden Seals also have to be in that conversation, with their 55 losses that season.

And then we come to the '75 Capitals...now that was a special team...67 games lost...worst offense AND worst defense...goal differential of 260 goals...average loss by 4 goals...on average, one win every three weeks...

Seriously, I thought Ott was brought over to help bring the teams toughness up a little bit? I picked him up in multiple pools this year because I thought he was going to be fighting and putting up a decent amount of points.

Still are. Regier is not the problem in my estimation. Ruff is absolutely awful though.

I don't think Buffalo is really that boring at all, and I also don't think they're THAT bad.

I'm a Buffalo Sabres fan, and they've been pretty bad in some stretches this year.

that said, this thread is insane.

Clearly, you had front row seats for the Sharks inaugural season.

Chicago will take Myers off your hands. Kyle Beach was taken before him in the draft, so how about Kyle Beach and Johnny Oduya for Tyler Myers? Oduya is a +8 on the season. +8!

You can thank us later. No.. really, we wouldn't mind.
