Devan "I've played 16 playoff games in my entire hockey career, 6 of them being in the ECHL" Dubnyk?

And the other 10 were split across two seasons in the WHL!

Luckily the playoffs aren't something they really need to worry about.

Yep, just ask all the Canuck fans who want to jettison Luongo in favor of Schneider.

BTW - I would put Dubnyk and Schneider in the same category. Except that Dubnyk is a little more battle tested.

The difference is Schneider significantly outperformed Luongo last season, whereas Dubnyk and Luongo had similar numbers.

Just look how comfortable, confident and composed Schneider looked in his 1st playoffs as to why he's the starter going forward. Luongo doesn't instill that same level of confidence and is leaving his physical prime.

He was terrible in that series and vs Chicago. Nashville had no offense anyways. Was great vs SJ

Eh? He blanked the Bruins twice in a 7 game series... sounds like he played pretty ****in well. The games where he was blown out were games where the defense didn't show up because we were missing 30-40% of our d-corps. And the other 60-70% who weren't missing, were injured! Please don't say he sucks.

You may infer whatever meaning you wish to it but I said the game was terrible. You have happy memories of it?

I don't want to get into a Schneider Vs. Dubnyk debate because really, the biggest difference between the two goalies is simply geography.

And, yes 100 games tending for the Oilers is more battle tested than 70 mostly sheltered starts backstopping the presidents trophy Canucks.

Yes, Dubnyk battled hard to get the Oilers into contention...for the 1st overall pick. What a warrior.

Can never understand the need to hate the replacement. It's not like he spiked Lu's water and made him worse

Ok maybe Higgins but that's about it. Most seem to struggle when they go from East to West
booth and garrison have both been great

I haven't been a fan of Booth personally. Although he was on a mini run before that knee injury.

Garrison is way to early to tell but I included him because of arguments sake.

It's hard for some people to accept change and lashing out is easier for them than reasoning.

I remember a very disappointing performance by our forwards who, for just one game in the series, didn't bother showing up at all.

You can't win a series where just your goalie and a couple third liners show up.

Garrison has been great? Did I miss something? Not saying he sucks or anything but great isn't a word I'd have used to describe his game thus far. Goes for Booth as well.

Actually it's frustrating that we have to downgrade our goaltending because a bunch of people in this market, the media, and even the coach decided that our teams best player should be scapegoated.

I bet you Luongo wins a cup before Schneider.

Nobody hates schneider and i certainly don't love Dubnyk, but the fact is; if Dubnyk was here and Schneider was an Oiler, you'd all be driving Luongo out of town for Dubnyk. You could easily throw Bernier or Holtby into the conversation.

Schneider isn't any better than the others (or at least hasn't proven it), it's just all about "whose ox is getting gored".

Anytime I see Dan Tencer's name my mind just goes "lol".

The offseason is going to be interesting unless the league has a bunch of clauses attached to amnesty.
Good points - especially when it comes to the "have" teams. Unless there are clauses we don't know about regarding amnesty.

Still, I don't know about #2... what if the league somehow finds out and punishes both teams for collusion? A player's word is just word until he signs it on paper, as much as we'd like to believe their character. Plus the GM would be virtually unable to cry foul. But in this case though Lu would have no reason not to sign with FLA seeing how that's his preferred destination.

As for #1 though? Bring it on!

Coming from the guy who's been exceedingly vocal about shipping out two of the last three Art Ross winners, this is pretty rich.
