Bryz has been great all season and given us a chance to win every game he's played in. Unfortunately the team in front of him can't score

I meant what happened to him that he's great last year after being bad most of last year?

Imagine if he got a Vezina nod yet being a losing goalie.

You hoped that Bryz would play great and the team in front of him would suck? And you get on others for hoping for negatives...

No, I read them. Was just reading your entire post, and wondering if/why you were wishing the skaters to perform poorly given your previous positions.

I hoped the same as well. I didn't expect Bryz to perform as badly as last season, but he has definitely been a pleasant surprise this year.

of course i would not do that. im not like the guys here openly rooting for Bryz to fail.

i mistakenly quoted too much from RJ8812

Ilya Bryzgalov, the much-maligned goalie of the Flyers, the guy who so many outside of the organization questioned coming into this season, the guy some people wanted to escort out of town before the season began, has been superb.

Those occurred before there was a cap. How has it worked in the post-cap era? Details indeed.

Some have speculated he was to heavy last year(At the Flyers request).
Maybe just a combo of things. Adjustment period. Ect.
No complaints at all so far from Bryzgalov.

Can't really blame Bryz for any of our losses this year. Outside of Luke, Simmonds, grossmann, and Bryz, this team just looks disinterested most of the time.

Edit: Briere looks like he is also playing his hardest. Has had a lot of opportunities in the offensive zone and hasn't been as bad defensively as be normally is.

As much as I hate the idea of having a 30+ year old goalie signed for 8 more years at a sizeable cap hit, it's going to be hard to amnesty him if he keeps this up. Plus it might be nice to have a little stability in the net for a few years...

I don't want to amnesty him! The term is long, that's true, but his cap hit isn't bad at all TBH. I think last year was the exception in Bryz's career, he has been a freaking wall this season for the most part.

Bryz has been playing very well.

9th in the league with a 2.19 GAA
10th with a Save % of .924

If we could score, we would not be 2-5.

This is the Bryz we paid for and wanted to see last year.

If he keeps it up, there is zero reason to amnesty Bryz. B/c we cannot re-sign him, so who is our goaltender going to be?

that's fine to look at but what has his cap hit deterred us from affording so far? look at what we were about to give weber. i feel like everyone worries about the cap except the one guy who should. its just funny.

I like Bryz, but only possibility I could see is if they got Tim Thomas for 2 years and got a younger back up with potential , like a Ben Bishop?
