This is why we should trade Kuli for some offense and draft Seth Jones.

I'd take Ellerby before Jovo, Kuba and Weaver.

Specifically Jovo. Well, and Kuba (goes without saying).

I think we all know Weaver played like utter **** today and can do better than that.

I don't see why some are so mutinous towards Kulikov...Don't forget-- dude's only 22 years old. He's going to be fine.

starting to sound like Alot of Leaf Fans here now boys. Kuli is 22 years old and has the potential to be a star in the NHL. Ellerby is 24 years old and is 1 of 3 players who are not a negative in plus minus. He makes some bone headed plays but its a shortened season and so have the rest of the league. If Anyone has to go its mike weaver george parros and filip kuba. weaver is always getting beat and constantly turns over the puck, yeah he blocks shots and tries to be physical but even then hes out of place. Parros was brought in to bring toughness, have yet to see any so far, not one fight. Kuba was a wildcard to me but id rather have petro or robak play, kids who can keep up with the speed of the game.

Huberdeau's been awful. Should we trade him? I wouldn't pull the trigger so fast on a 22 year old franchise defensman, just because he's struggling.

Unless of course the price is right.

Huberdeau isn't in his fourth NHL season looking worse than he ever has, though.

Kulikov looks disinterested, probably because the team sucks. I wouldn't worry too much about him or him losing value, to be honest. He's not the reason we suck right now, he's just a contributing factor as to why we are significantly worse than we should be.

It's guys like Kuba and Jovo that are really hurting us. Kulikov just isn't helping.

No, don't trade Ellerby. He's more valuable to this team than what he could fetch in a trade. He's better than Jovo and Kuba. Get rid of them first. It's close between him and Weaver. But if you throw in the age and size factor then he beats Weaver. And no one has performed well this season. I don't know why we have to trade a defensemen with potential (yes potential) because some think he has struggled on a team that has sucked.

I don't think he's a "franchise defenseman."

He's certainly inconsistent. But when he's on his game, all I see is a potential stud. I wouldn't give up on him so fast, is all I'm saying.

Does anyone else think being paired with Weaver is holding him back? They seem to lack chemistry.

I would like to see him put with Campbell. Kuli has the shot, mind you not like Garrison, but its good enough to unload a few more times a game then he is doing.

I also think being with Campbell would make Kuli be a little more alert in his own end then being paired with Weaver. Campbell has been know to be an adventure in his own end at times, with a soft edge to him. This could force Kuli to buckle down and toughen up. Weaver might give him the idea that since Weaver is "defense-first" he can be a bit more loosy-goosy and thinking offense before he has taken care of his own end first.

Then you could have Kuba with Weaver, which might bring out some more offensive instinct in Kuba that past numbers show.

Worth a try at this point.

I don't really have a problem with someone saying that about Kulikov even though I disagree, but Ellerby "untouchable," too?

I just don't trade either of them UNLESS someone pays big. Just my opinion.

if edmonton wants kulikov, itd be a package of kulikov+ for one of the big 4 (and assuming rnh and hall are absolutely untouchable, not like all 4 of them aren't, but yakupov and eberle would be easier to get then the other 2 it sounds like).

This is the key- I doubt they would give up Yakupov or Eberle for Kuli.

Would you take Kulikov + for the 1st overall pick?

That ought to be a really big +...

I'd keep him if we could get rid of Kuba and Weaver.

Kulikov looking better out there last night.

Noone is untouchable, but trades should be made from a position of strength.

Trading either guy now would be a desperation move unlikely to garner the return we'd want.

If someone came calling with a good offer, I think you have to listen... and as a GM it's okay to let it be known that you are open to offers on certain players... but I wouldn't look to trade young players just for the sake of doing something.
